Words of Wisdom
 

Drabble inspired by this little saying:  Work spares us from three evils: boredom, vice and need.

Brian doesn't often read the motto on his desk calendar so it's ironic that when he does happen to glance at it, it's so completely inapposite.

As far as "need" goes – all he's heard all day is "the client needs", "the art department needs", "payroll needs". His whole working life is driven by "need".

Boredom – he's bored witless by all the admin that running his own company requires.

As for Vice - he suspects that fucking his art director senseless on the boardroom table probably counts, to most people anyway.

Personally, Brian sees it as the biggest virtue of the job.
