Surprise
Justin walked into the diner and was immediately accosted by
Emmett. “Baby, Michael said it’s fabulous! Is it really? Are you pleased with
it?” he gushed.
Justin threw Michael a mocking smirk as he slid into the
booth next to his friend.
The older man tried to look innocent. “What? We agreed not to show anyone, but
we didn’t say we couldn’t talk about it.”
The teen smiled brightly. Of course, he’d done the same thing to anyone who
would listen all day. The first issue of Rage arrived from the publisher that
morning and the boys were bursting with excitement. They knew they couldn’t sell
any until the launch party Brian planned, and that was four days away. Justin
didn’t think he could wait that long, and he knew Michael wasn’t doing any
better. They were dying to know whether it would be a success or not.
As Justin waited for his order, Michael informed him he did messenger a copy to
Brian’s office so the ad exec would be the first to see it, besides themselves.
When he gave them his blessing, they would show their friends.
“When?” Justin asked with a slight frown. He hadn’t heard from Brian all day.
“Right after you left for class.”
“Did you hear from him when he got it?”
Michael shook his head. “No, Cynthia confirmed it arrived, but Brian was in
meetings all day so she didn’t know when he would get a chance to look at it.”
Justin nodded and relaxed a bit. “Right. Okay.”
His friend reached over and squeezed his arm. “You know he’s going to love it,
he’s already seen every storyboard and drawing.”
Justin smiled again and marveled at Michael’s composure, not knowing Ben calmed
the other man down the same way several times earlier in the day. Ben slipped
his arm around his boyfriend’s shoulders and gave him another reassuring pat.
“So, George and I were thinking of taking you boys and your significant honeys
out for dinner before the party, you know, to get the evening started right. Our
way of saying congratulations.”
“Are you sure that’s wise?” Ted asked, a little jealous he was left out. “You
don’t want George to have another attack of heartburn and be rushed to the
hospital again.”
Emmett was shocked at his friend’s cruelty and blinked rapidly to hold back the
tears that threatened to spill. They all made fun, but no one understood how
frightened he’d been when George was complaining of chest pains in bed one night
after a particularly enthusiastic round of lovemaking. All Emmett could think of
was his lover having a heart attack in bed and called for a doctor.
Although it was just heartburn, it happened quite frequently after that and
became a rather hindering nuisance. Because of it, they returned home to have
George examined by his own doctor and rule out anything more serious as a
result. They were still waiting for the test results, although the doctor was
convinced it was nothing the proper prescription couldn’t alleviate. Until
Emmett was sure though, he wasn’t taking any chances. He couldn’t believe how
much he loved George and his friends could mock him all they wanted.
Justin hugged his friend and glared at Ted. “Emmett did the right thing, better
safe than sorry.” The teen shuddered. “How gross would it be to have a dead body
on top of you during sex?”
Ted smirked. “You’re the most likely to know since Brian is sure to fuck himself
to death. No, wait. Odds are better it’ll be a trick, so you don’t need to
worry.”
Brian slapped him in the back of the head. “I guarantee it won’t be you, so it’s
none of your fucking business.”
Brian kissed his lover and sat across from him, next to Michael. Justin glanced
at Ben, but the other man didn’t seem to care and he was relieved. It had been a
month since Ben and Michael got back together, and everything finally seemed to
be okay. Things had been a little tense between Ben and Brian, but of course,
Brian wouldn’t acknowledge it. He insisted nothing changed, the Queen of
Denial’s daily mantra, and everyone else eventually followed his lead.
One thing Justin did notice was Brian touched Michael significantly less. Less
hugs and kisses, less tickling and laughing, less time spent alone together. He
didn’t think it was a conscious change, because it came on so subtly. The teen
liked to think it was because Brian was slowly conforming to the idea of their
relationship being the top priority in his life and he didn’t need to be jealous
of Michael’s friendship with his lover anymore.
“You’re late,” the teen chastised playfully as he swatted the man’s hand away
from his fries.
Brian still managed to sneak a few. “I was busy.”
“That’s no excuse,” Justin replied sternly.
The older man slowly licked the salt from his fingers. “So punish me.” He was
immediately rewarded with a smoldering gaze that begged for the chance and
chuckled at his horny little boy. A slight nod of his head confirmed they would
play later and the teen wiggled impatiently in his seat as Michael interrupted.
“So what did you think of Rage?”
“Huh?” both men grunted.
“Did you even look at it?” Michael whined.
Tearing his eyes away from the blonde, Brian opened his briefcase and dropped
the comic on the table. “It’s not bad.”
Justin rolled his eyes while Michael pouted.
Emmett immediately snatched it up and he and Ted quickly flipped through it,
then handed it to Ben. “It’s wonderful,” Emmett cried as he hugged the boy next
to him.
While Michael, Ben and Ted talked about various pages, Emmett nudged Justin to
let him out to go to the restroom. When Justin stood, Brian pulled him onto his
lap, pushing the teen into Michael while they kissed.
“Can’t you two control yourselves for five minutes,” he groaned as he elbowed
the teen away from him.
“It’s been six and a half,” Ted informed him. “New record.”
Brian finally pulled back and looked at the boy’s dilated eyes and swollen lips.
“Let’s go,” he whispered.
“You didn’t eat,” Justin reminded him.
“Not hungry.”
“No?” Justin asked with a sly grin.
“Yes,” Brian growled, pushing the teen off his lap so they could leave.
“Oh, come on,” Michael snapped. “I thought we were going to Woody’s.”
Brian regarded his friend with a bemused gaze. He didn’t know if it was because
Michael and Ben were back together or because Michael finally accepted he and
Justin were back together, but either way things had improved between them. For
the most part anyway, except when Michael was being…Michael.
“I have to go home and change,” he replied. “We’ll meet you at Babylon.”
Emmett returned and put his arms around Justin. “Maybe we should hold the
Princess hostage to ensure you return. Or maybe not,” he hastily added as he was
coldly eviscerated by Brian’s glare. He obediently pushed the teen back to Brian
and waved. “So, we’ll see you later then,” he called as they left.
“Not a chance,” Ted muttered.
“Nope,” Ben confirmed.
***
Brian collapsed on Justin’s chest, taking a few deep breaths before withdrawing
and discarding the condom. Justin lowered his legs and greedily pulled the older
man’s mouth to his neglected cock.
“Oh, God,” he moaned as Brian slowly lapped the wet tip, twirling his tongue
around the engorged head. Brian was still breathing heavily and the short blasts
of air cooled the saliva on the teen’s burning skin. “Fuck, Brian,” he cried as
the man continued to lick the ridged cap.
Brian felt the boy’s fingers digging into his scalp as he tried to force his
length into Brian’s mouth. “You wanna cum now?” he teased his young lover.
“Yes,” the boy whimpered. Brian lifted his head and Justin writhed beneath him.
“No, please,” the teen begged as he tried to push Brian back down.
The older man took Justin’s hands and held them at his sides. “Be a good boy.”
The teen groaned, but nodded he understood, grabbing at the sheets instead.
Brian smiled and dipped his head again.
He teased the boy a little longer, probing the slit, licking the shaft, nuzzling
his balls, all the while pausing whenever Justin reached for him. After what
seemed an eternity for the teen, Brian lifted his head again and waited for
Justin’s senses to clear. Once Justin looked at him, he smiled. “Very good,
baby,” he praised.
“Now?” the boy asked desperately.
Brian nodded and Justin gratefully wrapped one hand around the base of his cock
and the other in Brian’s hair as he eagerly thrust himself deep into Brian’s
mouth. He keened as Brian swallowed him whole and only needed to pump his hips a
few times before he exploded.
The older man licked him clean then slid up the heaving torso to kiss his lover.
Justin reluctantly broke away and looked at the clock. “We should get going,” he
sighed.
Brian nuzzled his neck as he rubbed his renewed erection against the teen’s leg.
“Fuck it,” he growled.
Justin happily stroked the man’s rigid cock. “Fuck me.”
“Such a good boy,” Brian commended as the teen handed him a condom.
***
Justin woke several hours later when Brian slipped from the bed. “What?” he
mumbled.
“Go back to sleep,” Brian soothed, stroking the teen’s hair until he was asleep
again.
A few minutes later Justin heard Brian moving around the living room and got up.
Brian didn’t notice the naked boy silently padding across the floor until he was
in his lap. He sighed as he turned his attention away from the computer. “What
are you doing up?”
“What are you doing up?” Justin replied sleepily.
“I have work to do.”
Justin looked at the screen. “That’s Rage.”
“Go to the head of the class,” Brian teased, gently pushing the teen off.
“What are you doing? We already finished the posters. You didn’t change your
mind again, did you?” Justin gasped. It had taken forever to get Brian to
‘approve’ the marketing posters they hung around town, and now that they were
up, he wasn’t letting the man change them again. Having done this one project
with Brian, Justin had a new respect for the people who worked with him on a
daily basis. ‘Perfectionist’ didn’t even begin to describe him.
“It’s a surprise, so go back to bed so I can finish and get some more sleep
myself. I’ve got an early meeting tomorrow.” He emphasized his tiredness by
rubbing his eyes.
Justin wrapped his arms around Brian’s neck and kissed him. “Then forget
whatever it is and come to bed. We don’t need anymore surprises, you’ve already
done enough for the party.”
“No such thing as enough,” Brian replied kissing him back. “Not for you.”
Justin’s eyes widened and Brian immediately regretted it. But the teen didn’t
make a big deal over it as he expected. “Your intentions are duly noted,” the
boy told him. “Now come back to bed. I don’t want you grumping at me tomorrow
because you didn’t get enough sleep.”
Brian knew his young lover wouldn’t give up and they’d both be up all night so
he conceded and let Justin lead him back to the bedroom. He would just have to
find more time tomorrow, he thought to himself. That way the teen couldn’t snoop
either.
***
Emmett sashayed into the comic store and greeted his friends. “So, what’s the
latest from the Big Bad? Is he still being a party pooper?”
Justin shrugged, trying to hide his disappointment. “I don’t know. He’s been so
busy the last couple of days I’ve hardly spoken to him, let alone seen him.”
Emmett knew how much Justin wanted Brian to go to dinner with them before the
party. The teen thought it would be like a real date, (okay, a triple date, but
it was still progress where Brian was concerned), but Brian wouldn’t confirm
either way and the poor boy was obviously frustrated. “Well, I know how hard it
is to throw a good party, so we just have to understand if he can’t join us,
right Michael,” he prodded for support.
“Uh-huh,” Michael answered absently as he continued reading.
“But that doesn’t mean we won’t have a good time,” Emmett continued. “We’ll just
go, Teddy can escort you, and we’ll meet Brian there.”
Justin forced a smile, but the thought of Ted replacing Brian depressed him even
more.
***
Justin left another message at the loft that night, but Brian didn’t call back.
Finally he gave up and went to bed, alone and angry.
***
The next day, Justin finally got a message on his cell phone from Brian. He was
running late because of meetings and wanted the teen to meet him at the loft and
they would just order in before the party.
***
Brain stopped at the diner on his way home to pick up a couple sandwiches. He
was later than expected and couldn’t get a hold of Justin so he figured it would
save time.
“I need a cholesterol special for Sunshine and my usual to go,” he barked at
Debbie when he finally got her attention. She flew past him and placed the order
on her way to deliver another table’s food.
“What are you doing here?” she asked as she rang up a customer at the register
where he was waiting.
“Didn’t I just order?” he asked, as if the answer was obvious.
Debbie rolled her eyes. “I thought you didn’t have time to eat.”
“I would if people would stop bothering me,” he huffed. When she stormed off, he
pulled out his cell phone again. “Where the fuck are you?” he muttered when the
teen still didn’t answer.
“He’s with the boys,” Debbie called from the other end of the counter.
“What?”
“He went to dinner with the boys.”
“Why didn’t he fucking tell me?” Brian roared.
Debbie shrugged. “He said he’d meet you there.”
Brian rubbed between his eyes to ward off the headache that was looming. First,
the fucking ‘actor’ he hired to play Rage cancelled, so he had to scramble at
the last minute to find a replacement. Considering all the time he put into this
little surprise he was not going to cancel it. But of course, since Justin
didn’t know that’s what he was doing (besides juggling the job he actually got
paid for) the little shit thought he deliberately ditched dinner, their ‘date’,
and was being a drama princess again. Fucking spoiled brat. Brian dropped his
hand and stared back at Debbie, knowing she thought he fucked up again. Hah. The
only thing he fucked up was his life when he brought the twink home the first
time. Well, there was no going back, but he wouldn’t be making that mistake
again. As of that moment, there was no way in hell he was putting up with
Sunshine’s--
“Ted’s taking him to the party.”
Brian blinked at her. Then he was gone.
Debbie smiled at another patron. “Do you think it was something I said?”
