Boredom
Brian was sitting in the loft on the couch staring at
the blank TV screen. There was nothing good on TV. He found that he actually
wasn’t in the mood for porn and his current broken ankle left him unable to go
out to Babylon or Woody’s. To make matters worse, Justin not only had to work
late at the diner, but he also had a project due the next day so he couldn’t
come over. For the first time in a long time, Brian was actually bored.
He sighed heavily as he looked down at the cast that ran
from his toes up to mid thigh. He’d just gotten the cast and still had more than
a month before he’d get the walking cast. Which meant that he had more than a
month of being cooped up in the loft. If he was this bored on the first day,
what was he going to be like by the time he got his walking cast? He turned the
TV on and started flipping through the channels, trying to see if maybe there
was something on. After about a half an hour of channel surfing, he turned the
TV off and threw the remote at the screen.
Brian noticed that his laptop was sitting on the other
side of the loft, as well as his cell phone. It’d taken him almost an hour to
get from the bedroom to the couch with his leg in its current condition; he
didn’t want to think how long it was going to take him to get over to where his
computer was. He ran his fingers through his hair and leaned his head on the
back of the couch, starting to count the rafters.
When Brian got to 1357, he counted them once again then
started doing the math in his head to figure out how many times he’d actually
counted each rafter. He even did the division in the most difficult way he could
think of just to kill time. He looked at the clock when that was done and saw
that it was almost midnight. He’d only managed to kill three hours. He decided
that it was late enough that he would just go to bed, especially considering
that it would probably take him another hour to get back to the bedroom.
Finally, at about two in the morning, Brian fell asleep.
By the end of the first week Brian thought he was going
to go out of his mind. And he still had four weeks to go. Justin was coming over
as much as he could, but it still wasn’t enough to kill the boredom. Luckily,
Justin spent the previous night and he helped Brian get set up on the couch with
his laptop and cooler beside him with soda in it. After a couple of hours of
surfing various chat rooms, Brian turned off the computer and turned on the TV.
He was about to turn it off again when he came upon a soap opera.
“Eh, maybe it’ll be fun to make fun of it,” he said.
Before long he found himself totally enthralled in the story line, such as it
was. When that one was over, he started flipping channels again until he found
another one that he was interested in. By the end of the day, Brian had gotten
himself addicted to Days of Our Lives, General Hospital and One Life to Live.
None of the others seemed to interest him. Even with the blatant
heterosexuality, he mainly watched because of the hot guys. His favorites of
which were Sonny Corinthos and Jason Morgan, though Sean Brady wasn’t half bad
either. He was roughly the same age as Justin making him still fuckable.
After the shows were over, Brian decided he needed to
get more information. He figured he had a vague idea about what was going on,
but he wanted to see if there was more. He logged on to the computer and entered
a General Hospital chat room. He explained that he’d just gotten hooked on the
show and needed some information. Five hours later when Justin got to the loft,
he was still online chatting away about the various soap operas he’d started
watching.
“Hey, Brian,” Justin said as he started to walk over.
Brian jumped and quickly closed the laptop, not wanting the younger man to see
what he was doing.
“Hey,” Brian replied. Justin gave him a curious look,
then just shook his head and went to the kitchen with the bag he was carrying.
“I brought food. I thought you’d be hungry.”
“Um….thanks. What did you bring?”
“Your usual from the diner.” Justin smirked. Brian
simply nodded, logged off the computer and smiled at Justin.
“Turkey on whole wheat no mayo?”
“Yup.” Justin brought the container over and set it in
Brian’s lap. “I hope you weren’t too bored today.”
“Oh, I found something to pass the time,” Brian replied
with a smile. After they were done eating, Justin helped Brian to the bedroom.
After a quick blowjob, it was time for Brian’s pain medication which usually
knocked him out immediately. Justin curled up with Brian; resting his head on
the older man’s chest and they fell asleep. When Brian woke up around ten the
next morning he noticed that Justin was still there.
“Morning sleepyhead,” Justin said as he came into the
bedroom.
“Morning. Um…..don’t you have class today?”
“Nope, they were cancelled.”
“Work?”
“Nope, I’m all yours,” Justin said with a smile. His
smile faded when he noticed the slight frown on Brian’s face. “Brian?”
“Well, I just…..oh never mind.” Brian knew that he
wouldn’t be able to watch the soaps with Justin there so he would have to get
caught up on what happened later. With Justin’s attentions, though, Brian had
completely forgotten about his newest addiction.
It was the end of the third week when Justin decided to
skip his last class and surprise Brian. The poor man was probably bored
senseless and could use some cheering up. When he got to the loft, he noticed
that Brian was watching TV. He was so mesmerized by what was on the screen that
he didn’t even notice Justin come in. Justin thought perhaps it was some new
porn tape he had, but when he got closer so that he could see the TV screen, he
almost fell over from laughing so hard. Brian jumped and quickly turned off the
TV.
“You’re supposed to be in class,” Brian said sternly.
“I decided to skip it and I’m so glad I did. This is
fucking hilarious.”
“What?” Brian raised an eyebrow, trying to play
innocent.
“Brian Kinney watches soap operas,” Justin sing songed.
He started laughing even harder when he noticed a light blush creeping onto
Brian’s cheeks. He never thought he’d ever find anything that would make Brian
blush.
“I’m so glad you’re amused.” Brian turned and crossed
his arms over his chest, actually pouting. Justin finally calmed down enough to
come over and join Brian, kissing his cheek.
“It’s okay, Brian. I understand. You were just bored.
Although……..I didn’t think you were that bored.” He chuckled. He then yelped
when a couch pillow connected with the side of his head.
