Right Next Door

Chapter 8

It had been three busy weeks since Justin had gone to Chicago, which included searching for office space for his business. Molly had been urging him to find his own work space, but he didn’t feel comfortable being away from home while she was pregnant. Now that little Stephanie was born, he knew the time had come. As much as he loved his sister and his nieces and nephew, working out of a house with three kids didn’t give him the quiet he needed to concentrate on his designs. Thanks to referrals from Chicago, business was picking up and he was close to falling behind in his deadlines. He found exactly what he was looking for during the first week and thanks to an anxious landlord, he was able to make a deal that day and start setting things up. He was just about finished furnishing the ample space and couldn’t wait until he was able to function as a real company. Taylor Designs was finally going to become a reality. All he had to do was wait for the final paperwork to come through and he’d be ready to open his door for business.

In those three weeks, Justin hadn’t laid eyes on Brian once, but that didn’t mean that the auburn-haired man wasn’t in his thoughts. In fact, Brian had been on Justin’s mind so much that he was having trouble sleeping at night. It didn’t help that Jared and Hailey talked about him constantly. Apparently the man had given up on keeping the twins out of his yard and now spent time almost every day with them. Jared even said that Brian tossed a ball with him, although he made the five year old promise not to tell anyone. Luckily for Justin, Jared didn’t quite understand the concept of keeping secrets. In the last week, he’d spent way too much of his time thinking about the man throwing a ball around with the little boy.

After finishing up organizing his third and final filing cabinet, Justin glanced at his watch and was surprised to see that it was already after seven. It was a Friday night and Justin had promised to take the weekend off at the urging of both Molly and his mother. They were worried that he was working too hard and wanted him to relax a bit, claiming that he would fall over from exhaustion if he didn’t. He had to admit that he was tired, but the euphoria from all that he was accomplishing was giving him energy that he never felt before. Despite that though, a promise was a promise, and after one more quick glance around to make sure everything was in order, Justin shut off the lights and headed out. He was walking down the street towards his car when he saw Brian approaching from the other direction. He ignored the acceleration of his heart and smiled at his neighbor.

“Hey Brian.”

“Hey, what’re you doing walking these streets so late at night?” Brian asked as he stopped in front of the blond. The same blond that had been in his thoughts entirely too much in the last few weeks.

“I rented some office space so I don’t have to work out of the house anymore. I’ve been here every day trying to get everything ready. I’m at 157,” Justin replied, feeling his pride over his newest adventure.

“Well then, I guess we’re neighbors in the business world, too. My agency is at 139. I’m right down there,” Brian laughed, pointing out his building. “I own my building though. It used to be a bath house years ago, but works wonders for the company. All that space gives it an open atmosphere.”

“Shit, you own Kinnetik?” Justin said in surprise. “I was there a couple of weeks ago. I met with a woman named Cynthia about advertising Taylor Designs. I had no idea you were the boss. I have another meeting scheduled for next week to discuss exactly where we should go with my campaign.”

“I think I remember seeing Taylor on the calendar, but I didn’t make the connection.” Brian took a moment to think about why his and Justin’s lives kept colliding, but then pushed those thoughts away. He didn’t want to look too deeply into why he cared. “So, opening your own business is a big deal. Wanna head to Babylon for a drink to celebrate? I know for a fact we could get free drinks.”

“Uh…sure,” Justin said, trying not to think about all the reasons he should be saying no. “Let me just call Molly and let her know I’ll be home late.”

After the call was made, Brian and Justin walked the two blocks to get to the club and made their way inside. The music was loud, but the crowd wasn’t too bad. It was still early. The place really didn’t start hopping until eleven. Justin followed Brian over to the bar and took the offered drink gratefully. As time passed, the music continued to thump, the drinks flowed, and pretty soon neither one of them were in any condition to drive. Of course that thought was the last thing on their minds as the spent the next couple of hours grinding against each other out on the dance floor, causing whispers and rumors to circulate through the club. Everyone wanted to know who the hot blond was looking rather comfortable in the owner’s arms. Justin was the first one to come to his senses.

“Uh…Brian?” he said loud enough to be heard over the music. “Weren’t you the one disciplining me about drinking too much when I have to drive home? Now neither one of us are in any condition to drive.”

“That’s what cabs are for,” Brian replied with a smile as he led Justin back to the bar and signaled Tony. He spoke to the bartender briefly before watching him make a phone call. Once he was promised a cab within ten minutes, he hung up the phone and relayed the message to Brian and then went back to work. Brian and Justin managed to get in one final dance before going outside to meet their cab.

The ride home was filled with laughter as the two of them swapped stories about their past, Brian steering clear of his childhood. The cab pulled up outside Brian’s house twenty minutes later and both men over-tipped the poor driver before stumbling out of the back seat. The driver quickly pulled away, bringing about another fit of giggles.

“I don’t think he liked us,” Brian said as he tried to regain his composure.

“Maybe that’s because you kept insisting on knowing his cock size,” Justin suggested.

“What’s wrong with that? I told him mine.”

“Yeah, and I don’t think he was impressed.” Justin started laughing even harder at the appalled look on Brian’s face. “I didn’t mean it like that. He was wearing a wedding ring and had a picture of a blond woman taped to his dashboard. I’m pretty certain the only cock size he cares about is his own.”

Hearing that the cab driver was straight seemed to alleviate Brian’s mind. “How did you even notice that?”

“I’m an artist. I notice everything,” Justin replied, unable to keep his eyes from dropping down to Brian’s crotch.

Brian noticed where Justin’s line of vision traveled and felt a tightening in his jeans, causing all rational thought to leave his brain. “So, you want to come in for a drink?”

“You know I shouldn’t, right?” Justin asked as his heart rate accelerated.

“No, you probably shouldn’t,” Brian agreed.

“This is crazy.”

“I know.”

“Is there any chance that you really just want me to come in for a drink?”

“Nope,” Brian replied with a smile. “Sorry.”

Justin sighed, although whether it was in anxiety or relief, he wasn’t sure. He was only sure of one thing at that moment, and that was his decision. “Well, lead the way Mr. Kinney.”

Brian stood there for a moment, looking for any signs of uncertainty staring back at him, but all he saw was blatant lust, matching his own he was sure. Then he turned and walked to his door, making quick work of the lock and leading them inside. Once Justin was over the threshold, Brian closed and locked the door and then grabbed Justin by the front of the shirt, forcing him gently up against the nearest wall.

“Now let’s see how good you really taste,” Brian growled. “All over.”

Justin didn’t have time to respond before Brian took his mouth in a hungry kiss. It was so fast and powerful that it took Justin everything he had to remain on his feet. But he wasn’t objecting. Nothing he had ever experienced in his life compared to the feelings that kissing Brian stirred up in him. His brain sobered quickly as he felt himself being led towards what he assumed was the bedroom, his mouth still being devoured as they moved. It wasn’t until the back of his legs came in contact with the bed that the kiss ended and both men were standing there, panting heavily.

“Last chance to change your mind,” Brian whispered in Justin’s ear before nibbling gently on the sensitive flesh below it.

“Yeah, right,” Justin laughed as he reached for the opening of Brian’s jeans. He cursed his suddenly inept fingers as he fumbled with the buttons, happy when he felt Brian’s hand move his out of the way to complete the task on his own. Within a matter of minutes, both of them were stripped bare and falling down on the bed.

For the next hour, Brian brought Justin to heights he’d never known before, over and over again. They finally dozed off, but woke up a short time later to start all over again. It was almost four in the morning before they were temporarily sated.

“I should probably go,” Justin said, making no attempt to move.

“Or you could just stay here,” Brian suggested, surprising himself even more than Justin. “I mean…just in case I wake up with an urgent need for another blow job,” he added.

“What if I don’t want to give you a blow job when I wake up?” Justin asked, refusing to even consider the implications of what his staying could mean.

“You will,” Brian replied confidently. “How could you resist this?” he teased, grabbing Justin’s hand and placing it on his still semi-hard cock.

“You’re pretty sure of yourself, aren’t you?”

“Never had any complaints,” Brian smiled. “Now you’d better rest up before that blow job.”

Justin just laughed as he rolled over to get comfortable, knowing that he wouldn’t object to giving Brian a morning blow job. Within minutes he was sound asleep.

Sleep was a little harder for Brian to find. He couldn’t help wondering what possessed him to invite Justin to spend the night. It was something that he’d never done before, and he couldn’t even use the excuse that he was worried about Justin’s safety. He was pretty sure the blond was capable of making it next door. What was it about Justin Taylor, or any of the Taylor’s for that matter, that made him do things he never imagined doing? Whatever it was, he had to put a stop to it as soon as possible. Right after he received his morning blow job. Thinking about Justin’s warm mouth around him was the last thing on his mind before finally succumbing to sleep. It was also the first thing on his mind when he woke up, probably due to the fact that Justin was indeed sucking him into consciousness. It was a pleasure he was always denied since he never spent the night with anyone before. Maybe there was something to having an overnight guest. Of course he didn’t have much time to dwell on it as Justin took him deep and swallowed, causing Brian’s orgasm to come rushing to the surface. He groaned loudly as he spent himself in Justin’s eager mouth. He’d barely had time to enjoy himself, yet his body hummed with gratification.

“Morning,” Justin said as he sat up, giving Brian a lustful gaze. “I guess you were right. I couldn’t resist.”

“Come here,” Brian growled as he pulled Justin to him, tasting himself as he thrust his tongue inside Justin’s warm mouth. All thoughts about overnight guests and anything else completely forgotten as Brian began reenacting the previous night. It was after eleven before they finally made it out of bed.

“Do you mind if I jump in the shower? I’m kind of…” Justin stopped and looked down at his body before smiling at Brian. “…messy.”

“Yeah, go ahead. I’m gonna go make some coffee. It’ll be ready when you are.” Brian threw on his robe and stumbled to the kitchen, refusing to panic now that the euphoric sexual haze was lifting. He just needed to stay calm, and wait until Justin was gone before searching the internet for a place to relocate. A place far away from any sign of the Taylor’s. He chuckled at the thought of moving away from his life just to get away from a guy who made him feel things he’d never felt before. He wasn’t that worried…was he?

Brian was half way through his first cup of coffee when Justin appeared in the kitchen, dressed in the clothes he’d worn the day before, with his hair damp and smelling like Brian’s expensive soap and shampoo. For some reason, the scent seemed to stir Brian’s already semi-hard cock, forcing him to think about lesbians to keep from popping out of his robe. His thoughts had the desired effect and by the time he poured Justin a cup of coffee and handed it to him, all was well again.

“Thanks,” Justin said as he took the offered cup, grateful for something to do as he added cream and sugar. When he was in the shower, he’d mentally prepared himself for the conversation he knew they needed to have, but seeing Brian roaming around the kitchen in nothing but a silk robe sucked every prepared word out of his head, leaving him with nothing but lustful thoughts and visions of them from the night before. He really needed to focus. “Uh…Brian…”

Brian knew what was coming and wasn’t ready to have the ‘morning after’ conversation. Luckily the doorbell rang, putting a stop to anything Justin had planned on saying. “Be right back,” he said with a sigh of relief as he went to answer the door. Apparently his luck was short-lived though, when he opened the door and came face to face with one of his five year old neighbors.

“Brian, I know that I promised not to come over before lunchtime, but my mommy made me. She’s really worried about Uncle Justin. He didn’t come home last night and his cell phone is turned off. She wanted me to ask you if you knew where he went last night,” Jared said, hardly taking a breath between sentences.

“Uh…” Brian began, wondering how he should reply. He didn’t have time to worry about it though, as Justin came up behind him.

“Jared, what’s wrong?” Justin asked.

“Uncle Jus!” Jared exclaimed, surprised to see his uncle in Brian’s house. “What are you doing here? Did you and Brian have a sleep over?”

“Yeah, something like that,” Justin mumbled, hoping that Jared was still too young to recognize the blush he knew he was sporting. “Why are you here?”

“Mommy was worried cause you didn’t come home last night. Why didn’t you tell her you and Brian were having a sleep over? And where’s your car? And why is your phone turned off?”

“You ask too many questions, Kid,” Brian laughed, glancing over at Justin to see his reaction to being caught in an uncomfortable position. He wasn’t sure how Justin felt about it, but he wasn’t really pleased with the current situation.

“I must have turned my phone off after I called your mom last night,” Justin said as he avoided Brian’s gaze. “Come on. I’ll walk home with you and talk to her myself.”

Justin scooted around Brian and steered Jared down the steps with a quick nod to the man as he passed him, before Jared stopped him in his tracks.

“Uncle Jus, aren’t you going to thank Brian for the sleep over? Mommy says you always have to say thank you when you stay at someone’s house. And tell them how much fun you had,” Jared said innocently.

Justin sighed and swallowed the lump in his throat as he met Brian’s amused gaze. “Thank you, Brian. I had…fun.”

“Me too,” Brian replied, fighting to hold back his laughter.

Justin wanted nothing more than to go over and wipe the smug look off Brian’s face, but sighed instead as he gently nudged Jared along. “Come on, Buddy. Let’s go home.”

Brian watched Justin and Jared walk home before closing the door and heading back into the kitchen. He poured himself a second cup of coffee and took a few sips on the way to the bathroom, thankful that Jared at least put a stop to anything Justin had been about to say. The last sixteen or so hours had been confusing enough without listening to Justin ramble on about what a mistake their night had been; or worse yet, about any possible future they might have. Pushing thoughts of Justin away, he stripped down and jumped into the shower, refusing to think about why the scent of his own soap suddenly reminded him of a certain blond.

Justin and Jared walked into the house just as Molly was coming down the stairs.

“There you are!” she exclaimed as soon as she saw her brother. “I’ve been worried sick about you.”

“He was at Brian’s,” Jared informed her, causing Molly to eye Justin.

“It’s no big deal,” Justin began to explain quickly. “I went to Babylon last night and had a few drinks. I didn’t want to drive home after that and Brian was there so we shared a cab. It wasn’t until I got here that I realized I didn’t have my house key. I was afraid that if I rang the doorbell, that I’d wake up Stephanie so Brian offered to let me crash at his place. I’m sorry I worried you.” He avoided looking his sister directly in the eye, hoping that she wouldn’t see through his story as his house key felt like it was burning a hole in his pocket.

“You were at Brian’s all night?” Molly asked with a grin. “Jared, go on upstairs and pick up your toys. I need to talk to your uncle.”

Justin rolled his eyes and walked into the kitchen with Molly on his heels.

“Well, tell me what happened,” she finally said when it was apparent that Justin wasn’t going to say anything more.

“I told you what happened. I forgot my…”

“Cut the crap, Justin. There’s no way in hell I believe for one minute that you spent the night at Brian’s and nothing happened. I’ve seen the way you two look at each other.”

“I don’t care what you believe,” Justin replied before Molly’s words sunk in, peaking his curiosity. “What do you mean, the way we look at each other?”

“Oh please, anyone with eyes can see that you two are into each other. Brian can’t keep his eyes off you when he thinks no one else is looking and you’re just as bad. I’m not exactly sure what went on between you two at the hospital, but I know that you went after him when he left and when you came back you were blushing and couldn’t stop smiling. Now are you going to tell me what really happened last night?”

Justin needed time to think about what Molly said, but the way she was watching him, told him that she was waiting for him to confess to what happened between him and their neighbor. She was going to have a long wait.

“I told you, nothing happened. End of story. Now I’m going to go upstairs and change and then I’m going to take my niece and nephew outside to play. This conversation is over.”

Molly giggled to herself as she watched Justin storm off. Despite his protests, there was no doubt in her mind that Justin didn’t sleep on Brian’s couch. Unfortunately, he wasn’t ready to share the events of the night with her just yet. She’d just have to be patient and wait to see what happened next.
