Now That You're Here
Chapter 44
It didn’t take Brian long to figure out that they weren’t driving in the
direction of the house. At first he’d just assumed that Justin had to stop at
the store or something so he didn’t ask any questions. He just talked about his
day as he always did. It wasn’t until Justin passed the turn-off for the mall,
and headed towards the interstate that Brian couldn’t keep his mouth shut
anymore.
“Jus, you do realize that you’re going in the wrong direction, right?”
“Of course I do,” Justin laughed. “I’ve been living in Arizona for almost nine
months. I think I know my way around town by now.”
“Okay…so where are we going?”
“It’s a surprise,” was Justin’s response.
“But I don’t like surprises,” Brian whined.
“Bullshit, you do too,” Justin replied.
Brian couldn’t really argue with that. He did like surprises…normally. “Alright
I do, but tell me where we’re going anyway.”
“Not yet. Do you think you could just sit back and be patient for now? Please?
We have a long drive ahead of us.”
“How long?”
“About six hours,” Justin admitted cautiously.
“Six hours!” Brian exclaimed. “You expect me to sit in a car for six hours and
not know where we’re going? Are you out of your mind?”
“Brian…”
“No way, Blondie. Forget it. I may like surprises, but I have zero patience.
I’ll be halfway to crazy after an hour.”
Justin sighed in resignation. “Alright, fine. We’re going to Albuquerque for
your birthday. We’re staying until Sunday. Happy?”
“We’re going to Albuquerque? Till Sunday?”
“Are you an echo?” Justin teased. “Yes, we’re going to Albuquerque until
Sunday.”
“Cool. Why Albuquerque?”
“Well, my father had this plan. He wanted to spend at least one night in every
state in the country. We already hit most of the east coast and a few scattered
states. He recorded everything on a map, marking the cities we stayed in as well
as the date. I kept the map. I thought I’d finish it for him. With this trip, I
figured I could knock New Mexico off the list, visit what sounds like a really
cool city, and get to spend three whole nights in your arms without worrying
about anyone walking in on us,” Justin explained with a gleam in his eyes,
pushing back the sadness that tried to wash over him at the thought of his
father.
“Hey, your dad’s plan sounds kind of cool. I’ll be happy to help you finish off
the map. In fact, I was hoping that we could get away for a week right before
school starts. I was thinking of flying somewhere exotic, but maybe we could
make it a road trip. We could hit California and Nevada or something like that,”
Brian suggested enthusiastically. “Truthfully, I don’t care where we go as long
as we’re together. Thank you for doing this. It’s awesome, even though I ruined
the surprise.”
Justin laughed. “You didn’t ruin the surprise. I know you have no patience. I
never expected you to make it the whole six hours without knowing where we were
going. I had hoped that we’d make it out of the state at least, but it’s not a
big deal. I managed to surprise you. That’s all that matters. And a road trip
sounds great, but if you want to fly away to sit on a beach somewhere, I’m all
for that, too.”
“Well, we can talk about it and check out our options later. Who knows, I might
not be able to afford plane tickets anyway.”
“Um…that won’t be a problem. I’ll have my money by then.”
“Your money?” Brian asked in confusion.
“Yeah, I got a call from my parents’ lawyer last night. Once I turn eighteen, I
get access to the trust that’s waiting for me. It’s got the life insurance money
plus the money made from the sale of the house, the furniture, and the…other
car. I’m not sure exactly how much is in there, but it’s got to be a decent
amount. My parents owned our house outright so whatever it sold for is all mine,
minus the lawyer’s fees, of course.”
“Really? Wow. Even after paying tuition for four years, you’ll probably end up
with a nice amount,” Brian replied.
“My tuition is separate. My parents started a college fund for me when I was
born. I know for a fact that there’s enough money to pay for four years at
Arizona State in there. I don’t know about the rest. I’ve got to fly back to
Pittsburgh in April to sign some papers and work out the details.”
“Well, that doesn’t solve the problem of my being poor since I would never take
your money, but wow. When are we going?”
Justin hesitated for a moment. He wasn’t sure how the conversation was going to
go and now he was kicking himself for bringing it up during their trip. “I told
him that I had to check on the dates of Chris and Zan’s trip, since I’m needed
here while they’re gone, but…”
When Justin didn’t continue, Brian prodded. “But what?”
“I kind of thought I’d go alone. I don’t know why, but I just feel like I need
to be on my own, you know? To officially say goodbye to them, I guess. I can’t
really explain it. Please don’t be mad at me.”
“I’m not mad,” Brian replied. “Of course I’m not mad. You need to do what you
feel is right. I just hate the thought of you being so far away while you’re
dealing with all of this. I want to be there for you if you need me.”
“You will be,” Justin said, reaching over and taking Brian’s hand. “You’ll be
just a phone call away if I need a shoulder to cry on. Knowing that is going to
make it easier for me to do this.”
Brian thought for a minute. “Have you told Chris and Zan about this? They
probably won’t be too happy with the thought of you going alone, either.”
“No, I figured I’d talk to them when we got back. I’m sure they’ll try to
convince me to go with someone, but they’ll respect my wishes in the end. I
just…I have to do this. You understand, don’t you? I mean, you wouldn’t let
anyone help you when you were going through all that shit last summer. This is
kind of the same thing.”
“No it’s not. I went across town to Megan’s office alone. You’re flying across
the country alone. Hardly the same thing and I can’t say I understand, but it’s
your decision. All I ask is that you think about it some more.”
“I will, I promise. Now can we please change the subject? This weekend is all
about you, your birthday, and us. I don’t want to even think about Chris, Zan,
and Ryan, my parents, Pittsburgh, or anything else that will cause undue stress,
okay?”
“Works for me,” Brian replied happily. He was all for putting real life crap
behind them for a few days. He’d start harassing Justin about Pittsburgh once
they got home.
The rest of the ride was made in either random conversation or comfortable
silence. It hadn’t been often lately that the two of them could sit back and
talk about nothing of any substance, and they had missed it. The silences were
used to relax, just to simply enjoy being together. When they reached
Albuquerque, they stopped at the first restaurant they could find, each of them
starving after so many hours on the road. By the time they checked into the
hotel, it was after eleven. Justin was so exhausted; he hardly noticed the
strange look the concierge gave them regarding their desire to stay in a room
with only one king sized bed. Fuck anyone who had a problem with it.
The room was beautiful and Justin was immediately glad that he chose the more
expensive room. It would be well worth it to stay in such luxury. By the time
they got settled and Justin took a shower, he was dead on his feet. He hadn’t
gotten much sleep the night before after receiving the call from his parents’
lawyer, he had been up early for school, and then he’d insisted on being the one
to drive the more than six hours it took them to get to Albuquerque. Brian
understood and was pretty tired himself, so it wasn’t long before the two of
them were curled up in the middle of the bed, sound asleep in each other’s arms.
Justin was pulled from a deep sleep by the feel of a warm, wet mouth surrounding
his cock. He heard a low groan and almost didn’t recognize it as his own. He
reached his hands down, tangling his fingers in Brian’s hair as he thrust his
hips, forcing Brian to take him deeper. Brian replied enthusiastically,
swallowing Justin down effortlessly.
“God, Brian,” Justin moaned. “Please.”
Brian pulled back, replacing his mouth with his hand. “What is it, Blondie? What
do you want?” he asked, his voice husky from desire. “Do you want to come? Do
you want to shoot your load down my throat?”
“Please,” Justin rasped. “Please.”
Brian didn’t tease any longer. He took his hand away from Justin’s cock, wetting
two fingers before reaching down and finding Justin’s eager hole. He gently
worked his fingers in Justin’s ass as his mouth once again swallowed his cock,
the dual stimulation driving Justin crazy with need.
“Please Bri, I have to…oh God…please…”
Brian quickened his pace; Justin’s begging increasing his own need until he
found himself hard as steel and ready to come. He needed to bring Justin to
release so that he could find his own. He continued to work Justin’s cock with
his mouth, alternating between taking him deep and swallowing him down to
concentrating on just the tip, his tongue swirling around the head, dipping
inside the slit on every third pass. He felt Justin’s body stiffen up and knew
what was coming next. He thrust his fingers deep inside while swallowing Justin
down one last time and was rewarded when he felt Justin’s come hit the back of
his throat as the blond found the release he’d been craving. The sounds Justin
was making, along with the satisfaction of knowing that he could please the
person he loved so well, sent Brian over the edge with only the faintest of
friction from the mattress.
Justin was Jell-O. There was no other word to describe what he was feeling at
that moment. It obviously wasn’t the first blow job he’d ever gotten. It wasn’t
even the first time that Brian had taken his ass with his fingers. The only
explanation he had was that his mind had been clearer than usual because they
were far away from home. There was no fear of being found, no worries that Chris
and Zander would come home and find them or that a cop would decide to check out
the lake for misbehaving teens and come upon them. For the first time, he was
able to completely focus on himself and Brian and no one else. It was an
incredible feeling. When he found the strength, he opened his eyes and found
himself looking at Brian’s smug face.
“Good morning,” Brian said with a smile. “Did you sleep well?”
“Yes I did, but I woke up even better. If you give me a few minutes to recover,
I can return the favor and show my gratitude,” Justin replied huskily. He voice
was raspy from sleepiness and satisfaction.
“No need. All that begging you did had a strange effect on me. I shot right
after you did.”
“Oh…um…okay,” Justin chuckled softly. “I’ll have to keep that in mind. What time
is it?”
“It’s after eleven.”
“Eleven? Shit, I didn’t mean to sleep that late,” Justin replied as he jumped up
to get out of bed. Brian grabbed his arm, stopping him. He tried to pull away
without any luck. “Bri, we have things to see and do.”
“I know, but relax. I want to explore just as much as you do, but we never get
to wake up like this, you know? A nice morning blow job, cuddling in bed for
awhile, maybe ordering a little room service. Instead of racing around,
following an itinerary that you no doubt have in your bag somewhere, why don’t
we just do what feels right at the moment?” Brian lay down, pulling Justin with
him until he was spooned behind the blond, holding him tight. “Like this. This
feels right at the moment, don’t you think?”
Justin sighed as he sank deeper into Brian’s arms. “Yeah, you’re right. This is
much better than rushing off to some stupid museum.”
“That’s what I thought.”
They finally made it out of the hotel sometime around two. Their first stop was
the Art and History museum, where Justin spent his time admiring every piece of
art on display. Brian stood back and watched Justin lose himself in his passion
and smiled. He loved seeing Justin looking so relaxed and happy. After that,
they found a shopping area and enjoyed going into all the locally owned shops
and talking to the owners about the history of Albuquerque. They picked up a few
things for Chris and Zander, and bought themselves each a ring that they
immediately started wearing on the middle finger of their left hand. Neither one
of them spoke of the significance of the rings. That they were bought to be
identical and to be worn on the same finger of the same hand was an unspoken
promise between them; something to symbolize their love for one another and
their desire to be together for a long, long time.
They dined at an authentic New Mexican restaurant and then found an out of the
way gay club that they were able to sweet talk and flirt their way into. They
danced together for the first time and found that they fit well as dance
partners. They made it back to the hotel at three in the morning and barely
managed to shower before falling asleep curled up in the center of the bed
again.
The next morning, Justin woke before Brian and used the time to sneak down to
the pastry shop that was right down the road from the hotel. He picked up a bag
of Danish and a couple of cups of Coffee before heading back to the room. Brian
was still asleep, so Justin pulled his gift out of the suitcase, as well as the
box of condoms he’d brought, and then stripped back down before climbing back
into bed. Brian stirred when Justin started softly stroking his chest.
“Morning,” Brian mumbled as he stretched.
“Happy Birthday, Brian.”
“Oh yeah, it’s my birthday, isn’t it,” Brian said as a small smile. “I’m
officially an adult. I wonder if I could get in trouble for fooling around with
a minor now.”
“Oh shut up,” Justin laughed. “I’ll be eighteen in two months, and if they go by
maturity levels, I’m the one fooling around with a minor.”
“Yeah, you’re probably right,” Brian agreed. He gestured towards the neatly
wrapped box that Justin was holding. “Hey, is that a present for me?”
“Well, look at that. I think it is.”
“Why would you get me a present? This trip is the present, remember?” Brian
asked as he took the box.
“Trust me, this isn’t much. I just wanted you to have something to open when you
woke up. In fact, you might not even like it.”
“Somehow I doubt that I won’t like it,” Brian replied as he flipped it over in
his hands. “Can I open it now?”
“Unless you’d rather wait until next year,” Justin teased.
Brian shoved him gently and then pulled off the paper, tossing the scraps at
Justin. When he opened the box, he was faced with what he considered Justin’s
finest piece of art so far. It was a framed drawing of the four of them; Chris,
Zan, Justin and him when they were at the lake the summer before. It was
obviously sketched from the photo they’d had taken by one of the resort staff,
but strangely enough, Justin’s sketch seemed to hold more detail than the actual
photo did.
“Wow, Jus, this is incredible.”
Justin blushed at the praise. “That picture was taken the day of our first kiss.
After all those weeks of fighting my attraction to you, telling myself that it
was one sided, this was the day that I began to have hope. Even though I thought
that being with you would be wrong because of Chris and Zan, and our living
arrangements, I still had hope the moment your lips touched mine. It was the
best moment of my life.”
Brian didn’t know what to say. It was the best moment of his life, too. Instead
of replying though, he put the picture aside and pulled Justin into his arms,
kissing him with the force of all his emotions put together. Justin reciprocated
with the same enthusiasm, encouraging Brian to continue. He quickly managed to
get Justin on his back, his hands roaming greedily over the body beneath him.
Brian was glad in that moment that they were naked because he doubted he’d have
the patience to undress either of them. He continued the kiss for another moment
but then pulled back, looking deep into Justin’s emotion-filled eyes.
“I love you so much,” he whispered breathlessly.
“I love you, too. I want you, Brian. I want you inside of me.” Justin reached
over to the nightstand and grabbed the condoms, handing them over.
Brian took the condoms, searching Justin’s face for any signs of doubt. When he
saw none, he placed the box alongside them and then went back in for another
kiss. This one was softer, radiating Brian’s love more than his desire. His
heart swelled with the knowledge that he would soon be inside Justin for the
first time. It gave him the patience to take things slow, wanting, needing to
make the moment perfect. He pulled back slightly, moving his mouth from Justin’s
lips, down his jaw, to his throat. Justin’s squirming told him to continue, so
he did, kissing his way down Justin’s chest. He stopped momentarily, making sure
to give a little attention to Justin’s nipples before continuing down his body,
his mouth bypassing Justin’s leaking cock to lick and nibble on his thighs
instead.
Justin moaned with need, his hands finding their way to Brian’s hair. His cock
was throbbing, straining for attention. “Brian, please…”
Brian placed a soft kiss on the tip of Justin’s cock and then looked up at the
blond and smiled. “Roll over on your hands and knees,” he demanded gently.
Justin complied quickly, positioning himself as Brian had asked. His heart was
racing with excitement, his body shaking with need and desire and maybe a touch
of anxiety. Not that he didn’t want what was about to happen. He’d been dreaming
about finally giving himself to Brian for months. The moment was perfect. No,
the touch of anxiety stemmed from an irrational fear he had of disappointing
Brian. He feared that Brian would compare him to the people in his past and find
him lacking. Deep down he knew it was stupid, but he couldn’t help where his
thoughts traveled. Luckily all thoughts stopped the second that Justin felt
Brian’s tongue at the base of his spine. He couldn’t think of anything other
than the overwhelming feelings of yearning as Brian’s tongue worked its way down
Justin’s ass, finding his hole easily. He let out a groan as he involuntarily
pushed back, needing more…just…more.
Brian loved the sounds he was pulling from Justin. The pleading and moaning
turned him on like never before, bringing Brian’s cock to hard steel. He worked
his tongue in and out of Justin’s hole, ignoring his own need for the moment. He
wanted to make the experience as enjoyable for Justin as he could. As he lapped
and nibbled at Justin’s hole, he reached for the lube. Within minutes, he had
two fingers buried inside, preparing Justin as best he could. When he worked a
third one in, Justin tensed, alarming Brian a bit.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” Justin moaned. “It hurts a little, but I’m okay. I’m ready for you, Bri.
Trust me, I’m ready.”
Brian continued his ministrations as he reached over and grabbed a condom. He
ripped open the package with his teeth before pulling away to roll the condom on
himself. He smiled slightly at Justin’s muffled objections. Once the condom was
in place and he was slathered in lube, Brian positioned himself behind Justin,
placing a comforting hand on his hip.
“Now take a deep breath and try to relax. It’s going to hurt, but I’ll go as
slow as you need me to. If it’s too much, just say the word and I’ll stop,
okay?”
“Brian, I’ll be fine. Will you get moving already?”
Brian chuckled a moment before he started pushing inside. Once he was slowing
making his way inside Justin’s body, there was no more laughing. The tightness,
as well as the knowledge of what he was doing and with who, brought him
immediately to the brink, causing Brian to stop a moment to catch his breath.
The last thing he wanted was to shoot too quickly, ending their lovemaking
before it actually started. He could hear Justin’s grunts and pushed in a little
bit more, his hand keeping a steady rhythm along his hip. With one final push,
Brian was buried deeply inside, his head spinning at the sensations running
through his body.
“Are you okay?” he asked Justin huskily.
“Yeah, just…give me a minute,” Justin replied breathlessly. He’d never felt
anything like the feeling of having someone inside him; having Brian inside of
him. There was some pain, slight burning actually, but there was also this
feeling of fullness. A feeling of closeness, a connection to another human being
that couldn’t compare to anything else. It surprised Justin that one of his
first thoughts was that he was glad Brian was the first person he’d shared it
with. As his body relaxed, stretching to accommodate Brian’s intrusion, Justin
pushed back, trying to make it known that he was ready for more.
Brian recognized the signal and slowly pulled out a bit before sliding back in,
earning a groan of pleasure from Justin. After that, Brian picked up a steady
rhythm, sliding in and out as he slowly started bringing them both towards the
edge. He wanted to make it last, but he knew there was no way to prolong
completion much longer. Luckily, by the sounds Justin was making, he wasn’t
alone. He reached around and grabbed Justin’s cock, jerking it to match the
rhythm of his thrusts.
“Brian…oh God…yes,” Justin moaned as he threw his head back, his orgasm
overtaking him.
That was all Brian needed. He let go, following Justin right over the edge.
“Wow, that was…wow,” Justin said as soon as he could catch his breath. “This is
probably going to sound stupid, but is it always like that?”
Brian laughed as he tightened his hold on the blond. “Actually, no. It’s always
awesome, but never like that. I think we just…click or something, you know? Are
you okay? I mean, are you really sore?”
“I’m good. A little sore but very, very good.” Justin rolled over and kissed
Brian softly. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
They spent the rest of the morning and most of the afternoon in bed. Justin was
too sore for another round, but that didn’t stop them from kissing, touching, or
blowing each other a couple more times. They ordered room service for lunch and
refused to feel guilty about spending time in bed when they could be out
exploring. Being able to lounge around naked in bed was something that they
never got to enjoy. It was more important than going to a museum. They agreed to
check out early and hit a couple of attractions in the morning before heading
home.
They finally forced themselves out of bed around three, wanting to get to a
restaurant before the dinner crowd, but showering together had put a stop to
that. They didn’t make it out of the hotel until after five. They decided on a
steakhouse that was located a few blocks over from where they were staying, so
they walked over, enjoying the nice day. The food was excellent, leaving them
both stuffed. Justin hailed a cab outside the restaurant, surprising Brian once
again with tickets to see Wicked. The show was incredible, adding yet another
positive mark on an already perfect day. They made it back to the hotel around
eleven, exhausted and happy. There was no way that either of them was up for
anything of a sexual nature considering how many times they’d gotten off that
afternoon, so they curled up in each other’s arms for their last night away and
fell into a sound sleep.
*****
As Chris was driving towards home, Zander’s hand in his, he couldn’t help but
think about how happy he was; how thankful he was that he didn’t lose his family
over his utter stupidity. He and Zan had enjoyed a nice weekend of curling up
together each night and spending time together. Earlier that day, they had done
some much needed shopping, making sure to finish in time for their “date” - an
afternoon spent making love and then dinner and a movie. Some might say that
they were boring, but Chris didn’t care. He’d take boredom in Zander’s arms over
anything else anyone could offer. He looked over at his partner with a smile on
his face and squeezed his hand.
“You know that I love you, right?”
“Yeah, I know,” Zan replied softly. “I love you, too.”
“Brian and Justin should go away more often. It’s been nice having the house to
ourselves.”
“Bite your tongue. It won’t be much longer until they go off to college,” Zan
pointed out. “I’d like to have them around as much as possible until then.”
“Yeah, I’m choosing to block out the fact that they’re going to be moving out at
the end of the summer. It’s going to be so quiet in the house once they’re gone.
I don’t mind them being gone for an occasional long weekend, but permanently?
I’m not ready for that yet.”
“I know,” Zan sighed. “But it’s not completely permanent just yet. They’ll be
home for holidays and the summers, and since they’re only three hours away, I’m
sure they’ll come home a lot on the weekends, too.”
“I hate to tell you, but I think that weekend thing is wishful thinking. They’re
going to get a taste of living on their own and that will be the end of that,”
Chris laughed.
“Not necessarily. Remember, we’re not their parents. They’re not running from
overbearing rules and ridiculous curfews.”
“No, but they’re going to be running away from the bad men who make them keep
separate bedrooms,” Chris replied. “You know that they’re going to be sharing a
bed as well as a room at school.”
“I know.” Zan was quiet for a moment; thoughtful. “Do you think that we should
re-address their sleeping arrangements?”
“I don’t know. When we first found out that they were together, I was sure
keeping them in separate rooms was a good idea…it was a good idea back then.
They needed time, you know? But now? Brian turned eighteen today, and Justin
will turn eighteen in April. They’re obviously in love with each other. Do you
think we need to keep them apart any longer? All we’re really doing is forcing
them to break the law by fooling around out in public somewhere, and after this
weekend, it’s only going to get worse.”
“Worse? Worse how? What’s going on this weekend?”
“Hmm…how should I say this? Um, this weekend, Justin is going to become a man.”
“What?” Zan looked at Chris in confusion. “What does that mean?”
“Think about it.” Chris gave Zander a moment and then explained further, “It
means that you’re not the only one spending the weekend with your ankles in the
air.”
“Huh? Oh…oh…you mean…how do you know that?”
“How do you think? Justin told me.” Chris laughed at the strange look Zan gave
him. “Look, back when Justin had the problem with Dane, he confided in me. I
guess he feels comfortable coming to me now. Well, as comfortable as Justin can
be. He told me that he was ready to be with Brian, hence the reason for the
trip, or at least one of the reasons.”
“Huh. I guess I’m just surprised that he went to you and not me. I thought we
had a pretty close relationship. I guess I was wrong.”
“Now don’t be like that. You guys do have a close relationship. It was
circumstances the first time. He was confused by the whole Dane incident and I
was there. After that, I guess it was just easier to keep coming to me. And it’s
not like we have these huge heart to heart talks each week. He only said
something to me this time because he was trying to explain why he wanted to take
Brian away for his birthday. You should’ve seen how red he turned when I teased
him about having his way with my little brother. The poor kid was horrified.”
Chris laughed at the memory. “If it’s any consolation, after that he’ll probably
stop coming to me, too.”
“You’re an ass.” Zan shoved Chris gently. “So, we’re in agreement that we need
to re-address their sleeping arrangements?”
“Well, we should at least talk about it a little more. If they’re old enough to
move out on their own, shouldn’t they be old enough to make their own decisions
about their lives, with guidance, of course.”
“Yeah, I guess they should. We can sit down tomorrow and talk about it some
more,” Zander replied. “Oh, and after that oh so complimentary comment you made,
I think you’re the one who’s going to have his ankles in the air.”
Chris shivered in anticipation. They each had their preferences, which worked
out well for them considering Chris preferred to top and Zan preferred to
bottom, but every so often they changed positions to shake things up. It had
been awhile, since long before their separation that Chris had bottomed for
Zander. He was more than ready to spread his legs for his partner. “If you
insist.”
Zander leaned over and kissed Chris’s cheek, anticipation coursing through him.
A few minutes later, Chris pulled the SUV into the driveway, looking towards the
house as he did. “Did you leave all those lights on?”
“No. I was just sitting here thinking that I forgot to turn a light on when we
left. I assumed the house would be completely dark. You don’t think the boys
came home early, do you?”
“No. Justin’s car isn’t here and if they did come home early, they would’ve
called and told us. Stay here.”
Chris went to get out of the car, but Zan grabbed his arm, stopping him. “Maybe
we should call the police before going in.”
“Yeah, you’re right. You call the police; I’m just going to take a look around.”
They both got out of the SUV and walked towards the house. Zander immediately
called the police and was promised that someone would be right there. He looked
over at Chris, who was walking around the front of the house, looking through
windows. Once he was done, he joined Zan on the sidewalk.
“Someone was definitely in there. I couldn’t see much, but it looks like the
door was forced open and some of the place was trashed.”
Zander sighed. “Three guesses who was behind this.”
“I only need one,” Chris replied angrily as he took Zan in his arms, wondering
when he’d ever be able to stop paying for his mistakes.
