Fate Wins Out
Part 2
Six months later…
It had been six months since Stacy had told him about the baby and confessed to
knowing he was gay. In that time, Justin still hadn’t done anything about his
sexuality, even though Stacy was always trying to get him to go out and meet
someone. She told him that he needed to start expressing himself and she would
not stand in his way, but he wasn’t sure if he could go behind her back and be
with someone else. He might be gay, but he was still a married man and wanted to
be a good husband, not to mention that he was scared. He was a 25 year old
virgin by gay standards and wasn’t sure if he was up to finding someone to help
him move forward. He was content just being Stacy’s husband for the time being.
He would meet someone when the time was right.
Stacy paced around her living room, trying to come up with a way to help her
husband. In the last six months, since the truth came out, she tried everything
to get him to go out and find someone he could be with. She felt bad enough for
all the years he spent living a lie, she wanted to give him some of the pleasure
he had given her over the years. When the phone rang she grabbed it without
thinking.
“Hello?” She answered, somewhat distracted.
“Is that anyway to answer to phone when you’re favorite cousin is calling?” The
voice on the line chuckled.
“Brian? Is that really you?” Stacy asked.
“It’s really me, sweetheart! How is my beautiful cousin
doing?” Brian asked, feeling guilty for not getting in touch with her sooner.
“Oh my God! I can’t believe it’s you. I have missed you so much. I was hoping
that you would have at least come to my wedding. I asked Aunt Joanie to get in
touch with you but she said you were too busy taking the European business world
by storm.” Stacy explained, overwhelmed by the emotions she was feeling.
“Yeah, well your Aunt Joanie wouldn’t have a clue as to what I’ve been up to. I
haven’t spoken to her since I left the states ten years ago. Apparently, I
didn’t turn out the way my parents wanted me to so the just wrote me off. The
only reason I was able to call you is because Claire was dumb enough to call me
to ask for money. I promised to send a check if she gave me your number. I have
missed you so much. You are the only one in the family that I have any desire to
talk to. You were always my favorite.” Brian stated, saddened to hear that Stacy
had gotten married without him being there. Growing up, they always had a
special bond. He was devastated when his parents insisted that he had no contact
with the family.
“Why? What happened? I didn’t know that you were thrown out of the family. Every
time I asked about you, I was led to believe that you left on your own to become
a success and still kept in touch with everyone. I thought that you just outgrew
me.” Stacy said, her voice cracking with emotion. She never admitted to anyone
how hurt she was when Brian disappeared without even trying to stay in touch
with her. She thought they had a close relationship and couldn’t believe that he
would just walk away.
“I could never outgrow you. I’ve been trying to get in touch with you for years.
Thank God Claire married an asshole who left her and her two children with
nothing. If she hadn’t called me, I still wouldn’t know where you were. I’m
sorry you thought I was blowing you off. I have missed you so much.” Brian told
her, wiping away a tear that started to fall. He was usually good at hiding his
emotions, but knowing all the pain Stacy had gone through because of a
misunderstanding was a lot to hide.
“I’ve missed you, too. Where are you? Are you still living in Europe?” She
asked, dying to know what Brian has been up to for all these years.
“Actually, I’m here in Pittsburgh. Once I got your address and number from
Claire, I hopped on my jet and came right home. I was hoping you would be able
to find time in your busy life to play catch up.” Brian joked.
“You’re here? Where? When will I see you? Where are you staying?” She couldn’t
contain her excitement at seeing Brian for the first time since she was fifteen.
“Wow…slow down. I am at the airport. My plane just landed. I haven’t gotten a
hotel room yet so I’m not sure where I’ll be staying, but I would love to see
you first if your not doing anything right now.” Brian answered, hoping she was
free for the afternoon. They had so much to talk about.
“Brian Kinney! You are not staying at a hotel. Now you get your ass in a cab and
hightail it over here right this minute!” She demanded with a laugh.
“Yes, ma’am!” Brian joked back before turning serious. “I love you Stace…I’ll
see you soon.”
“I love you, too. I’ll be waiting.” She replied before hanging up the phone.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she ran upstairs, wanting to look good when
she saw Brian again so he didn’t notice the distress she had been living with
since the day she found out her husband was gay.
Justin was happy to be home. It had been a long week at the office and he was
looking forward to having the next two weeks off. He and Stacy had decided that
he would take a vacation so they could set up the nursery before the baby was
born. As soon as he opened the front door he heard laughter coming from the
kitchen. Placing his briefcase down by the stairs, he walked into the kitchen
and froze by what he saw. Sitting at the table with his wife was the most
beautiful man he had ever seen.
“Justin! I’m so happy you’re home. I want you to meet someone. This is Brian
Kinney. He’s my cousin. Brian, this is my husband, Justin Taylor.” Stacy
introduced them, noticing a strange look cross her husband’s face.
Justin shook himself out of the trance he was in and extended his hand. “Nice to
meet you, Brian. I’ve heard a lot about you.”
As Brian stood up he found himself looking into the most beautiful blue eyes he
had ever seen. Even though he spent his life believing love was for straight
people, he felt something for the man standing before him. Something he never
felt before. There were only two problems with this turn of events. First one
being it was his cousin’s husband, second one being he was straight.
“Nice to meet you, too Justin. Stacy was just telling me how wonderful you are.”
Brian replied as he shook the man’s hand. He felt a spark the minute their hands
made contact and knew that he was in trouble.
“Justin. Brian is going to be in the states for awhile so I told him he could
stay here. You don’t mind, do you?” Stacy asked, knowing that Justin wouldn’t
have a problem with it. He was always so willing to make her happy these days.
“Of course I don’t mind. You are welcome to stay here as long as you like. Now
if you will excuse me, I think I will go up and take a shower. I want to start
my vacation free of the office grime.” Justin joked as he left the kitchen to go
upstairs. He needed to get away from Brian and try to get himself together. He
just hoped that the man didn’t plan on staying with them long. He didn’t know
how he was going to handle being in the same house with someone who made his
knees go weak. He was beginning to wish he wasn’t going to be on vacation for
the next two weeks.
Brian was sitting at the kitchen table, his mind lost in thoughts about the man
who was upstairs in the shower. He could almost picture the blond standing under
the spray of water soaping himself and felt his cock twitch at the thought. He
almost didn’t even hear Stacy calling his name.
“Brian! Where did you go? I’ve been talking to you and you haven’t listened to a
word I’ve said. Is everything alright?” Stacy asked with concern.
“Sorry, Stacy. I guess I’m just a little tired. I think jet lag is settling in.
Would you mind if I went to lay down for awhile. We can finish catching up
later.” Brian suggested, needing to be alone with his thoughts. The guilt from
lusting after his cousin’s husband was beginning to take a toll on him. He had
promised that he would stay in town for awhile but he was beginning to think
that wouldn’t be such a good idea.
“Oh Brian, I’m sorry. I didn’t even think about how tired you must be. Please,
go lay down. I want you to be well rested for tomorrow night. Justin and I have
a charity fundraiser we have to go to and I want you to come with us. I want to
be able to show off my hunky cousin to all the snobs on the hospital board. I’m
glad we bought that extra ticket just in case Justin’s sister came to town. She
called this morning and said she had to put off her visit. This is great. I’m
sure Justin will be thrilled, too. He hates having to go to these things. Now he
will have someone to hang with while I do my thing. Go! I’ll see you when you
wake up.” Stacy was rambling again and she hated when she did that. She couldn’t
help the happiness deep inside at having her cousin back in her life.
“Thanks Stacy. I’ll see you later.” Brian said as he kissed Stacy’s cheek and
headed upstairs. As soon as he got to the guest room he had put his things in
earlier he crawled into bed and fell asleep, his mind filled with visions of the
blond down the hall.
