Coming Out

Chapter 13

Once Justin and Brian finished dropping off the girls, they drove to their special place, needing to be alone. As soon as Justin put the car in park, he felt himself being pulled into Brian’s arms, and sighed at the feeling of contentment.

“God, Brian, I’ve been waiting for this all day. I thought I’d go crazy being that close to you all day without being able to touch you,” Justin admitted.

“I know what you mean. All I wanted to do was drag you upstairs and have my way with you. I can’t wait till the day comes when we don’t have to hide anymore,” Brian replied, before lowering his mouth to find those lips he had been aching to touch all day. When he felt Justin’s lips open for him, he dipped his tongue inside to get a taste of the boy he loved so much. The kiss lasted until both boys were breathless. “I guess we should be getting home.” Brian said with disappointment.

“Yeah, my mom could probably use some help cleaning up. I heard her say something to my dad about going to visit my grandmother tomorrow. Maybe we could just stay home and spend the day together. I’ll just tell her I don’t feel good. I’m sure she won’t ask you to go without me,” Justin suggested, wanting more then anything, to spend the day alone with Brian.

“Lying to your parents? I’m shocked!” Brian exclaimed, trying to hide his amusement.

“Well, if you would rather spend the day listening to stories about the 1940’s,” Justin teased.

“I’d rather spend my day in bed with you, making love to you over and over again,” Brian said. His voice filled with lust.

“Oh…uh…okay. I guess we should get home then,” Justin stammered, the look in Brian’s eyes making his cock twitch in anticipation of the following day.

When they entered the house, Brian and Justin were surprised to find Jennifer sitting in the kitchen waiting for them.

“Hey Mom, we came back to help you clean up. What do you need us to do?” Justin asked, noticing a strange look on her face.

“It’s all done, honey. What I would like is for you and Brian to sit down. I want to talk to you,” Jennifer said, rising from the table to refill her coffee cup.

Brian looked over at Justin to see what his reaction was. It was obvious that something was bothering Jennifer, and he had a feeling it wasn’t going to be good. Justin just looked back at him with a confused expression and sat down. Brian sat down too, hoping this wasn’t one of those ’I don’t think this is working out’ speeches.

“Justin, I’ve known for a while now that you and I were going to be having this conversation, I just didn’t realize that Brian would be a part of it,” Jennifer began.

“Mom, I don’t know what you’re talking about. What conversation?” Justin asked. He looked over at Brian, trying to read his impression on what she was saying.

Brian knew immediately what Jennifer was talking about. He could see it in her eyes. She not only knew that Justin was gay, but by the way she wanted to talk to them both, he knew that she figured out that they were together. Brian started to get very worried about his future.

“Honey, I know about you and Brian,” she stated, looking down at her hands.

“What about Brian and me?” Justin asked, still not understanding.

Brian saw how hard this was for Jennifer, so he decided to make things easier on her. “Justin, she knows that we’re together,” Brian said in a low voice.

“Oh…I…it’s not what you think.” Justin tried to come up with some explanation for whatever it was that she might have seen. Brian stopped him before he had a chance to say anything more.

“Justin, she knows,” was all he said.

The three of them sat around the table in silence for a few minutes, not sure of what to say. Brian broke the silence.

“I guess you want me to get my things,” Brian said softly.

“Oh Brian, no. That’s not what I want!” Jennifer exclaimed. She wasn’t sure what was going to happen next, but she knew that she was beginning to think of Brian as her second son. She would never ask him to leave.

“How did you find out?” Justin asked, finally recovering from the shock.

“Well, at first it was little things. The lack of interest in girls and sports, but then when I met Brian, I knew. I see the way you look at each other. Sweetie, I was young once, I know all about first love. It wasn’t until tonight that I was sure. I saw you holding hands during the fireworks,” she admitted.

“Oh. Well, what happens now?” Justin asked.

“Honey, I just want you to be happy. I want you both to be happy. I don’t know what happens now. I guess I can assume you both are sure about…how you feel?” She asked cautiously. Jennifer couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by all that had been confirmed.

“You mean are we both sure we’re gay? Yeah, that’s pretty much a definite,” Justin replied with irritation.

“Justin, stop it. Don’t be like that. Your Mom probably has a lot of questions. Can you blame her? It’s not everyday that a woman finds out her son is gay,” Brian said, trying to get Justin to understand.

Justin looked over at Brian and could see the disappointment in his eyes at the way Justin was treating his mother. He realized that Brian was right. This was a lot to take for anyone and his mother wasn’t screaming or yelling, like he expected her to do if she found out. He felt bad for getting irritated with her.

“I’m sorry, Mom. I didn’t mean it like that. I’ve known I was different for a few years now. I just wasn’t going to say anything about it until I went off to college. Then I met Brian, and that all changed. I love him, Mom,” Justin said, reaching over to take Brian’s hand.

“I know you do, honey. I’m just worried about you. About both of you. Are you …” Jennifer stopped mid-sentence.

“I’m not going to discuss my sex life with you. You’re my mother for God’s sake!” Justin exclaimed.

“Jennifer, let’s just say that no matter what happens, we’ll always be careful,” Brian reassured her.

“I guess that answers my question. Why don’t you boys go on up to bed now? We can discuss this more later,” Jennifer said. She needed more time to absorb the news and think about how it was going to affect the family.

“What about Dad? Are you going to tell him?” Justin asked with fear. He somehow doubted that his reaction would be as positive as his mother’s.

“How about if we keep this between us for now, okay?” She suggested. She’d known Craig for more than half her life, yet she wasn’t sure what his reaction would be when he found out that his only son was gay.

“You’re the best, Mom,” Justin said as he kissed her cheek.

“Yeah, you’re the best, Mom,” Brian mimicked, kissing her cheek as well.

“Alright you two, up to bed. We’ll talk more later,” she laughed.

Brian and Justin walked hand and hand upstairs quietly, not wanting to wake Craig and Molly. When they were in Justin’s room with the door closed, Brian took Justin in his arms.

“Are you okay?” He asked, wondering how Justin was taking the news about Jennifer knowing their secret.

“Yeah, I think I am. I feel kind of relieved that she knows. Now we don’t have to worry so much about getting caught when she’s home,” Justin said, brushing the hair off Brian’s forehead.

“Maybe not, but we still have to careful. I don’t think your mother would appreciate walking in her house to find her son and his boyfriend going at it on her couch. I’m still surprised that she’s letting me stay here under the circumstances,” Brian replied.

“That’s because she loves you almost as much as I do,” Justin smirked.

“I guess I must be irresistible to you Taylor’s,” Brian joked.

“Well I don’t know about my mother, but I know I can’t resist you,” Justin replied.

“I love you, Justin Taylor,” Brian said as he looked deep into those blue eyes he loved so much.

“I love you, too, Brian Kinney,” Justin replied before reaching up and covering Brian’s mouth with his own. After a few moments, he pulled back. “Goodnight Brian,” he whispered.

“Goodnight,” Brian replied, before leaving the room. He ran into Jennifer in the hallway.

“Brian, could I talk to you alone for a minute?” She asked.

“Uh, sure, come into my room,” Brian replied curiously.

Once inside the room with the door closed, Jennifer asked Brian the one question she’d been dying to ask.

“Brian, do you love my son?” She asked, cautiously.

“Yes I do, Jennifer. I love him very much,” Brian replied honestly. He waited for her to go, wondering where she was going with this.

“I have to be honest with you, Brian. I’m not sure how to feel about all this yet. I know that it’s Justin’s life, but I’m worried about him. You’re both so young. Are you sure you know what you’re doing?” She questioned.

“Jennifer, if I was a girl, would you be as worried about him?” Brian asked, already knowing the answer.

“No, probably not. But the circumstances are different here. You’re living in the same house. What happens if you break up? Will you still be able to live together?” Jennifer asked.

“Look, I know this is hard for you. No one knows what’s going to happen between Justin and me, but I can tell you that I’ll do everything I can to make sure he doesn’t get hurt. How about we just wait and see what happens?” Brian suggested.

“I guess that’s all we can do. Just remember that no matter what, you’re a part of this family now. We’ll deal with anything that comes our way as a family. I don’t want you to worry that if something happens, you’ll be asked to leave. As far as I’m concerned, you have just as much right to be here as Justin does, okay?” She asked, taking Brian in her arms for a hug.

“Justin was right. You are the best,” Brian replied as he hugged her back. He was really starting to enjoy the feeling of having someone care about him.
