Love

Chapter Three
 

"This had better be good. What do you need?" asked Tom.

"I need you to do a check on someone. His name is William, aka, Spike. He's tall, lithe, has an English accent and blonde hair. Dyed. That's all I know."

"Shit, Brian. That's not a whole lot to go on."

Brian sighed. "I know, Tom. Just do it. Okay?"

There was a slight pause. "Okay. I'll call if I find anything." With a goodbye, Tom hung up. Now, all Brian could do was wait.

Spike watched Justin as he stretched and yawned. "I can't believe we've been up all night talking," said Justin.

"Well, go on to bed. You need your rest, human."

Justin laughed. "I'll see you later, Spike."

After Justin had entered his room, and shut the door, Daphne looked at Spike. "Who do you think you're fooling?"

"Excuse me?" asked Spike as he raised an eyebrow.

"It's as plain as day. You love Justin."

"Of course. I've known him for years. I love you, too, Daph."

Daphne shook her head in exasperation. "No! I mean you love Justin. As in being in love with him. That's really why you dumped Drusilla, isn't it?"

Spike eyed Daphne, weighing his options. He liked Daphne and trusted her. Should he tell her? She might help him reach his goal. Decision made, he nodded. "You figured me out."

She smiled. "Are you here to tell him?"

Spike nodded. "Yes. And you can help me."

"Help you? How?"

"Help me woo him?"

Daphne started laughing. "Woo him?!"

"Yes! Woo him!" Spike replied in a defensive tone.

"I'm sorry for laughing, Spike. It's just that a person usually doesn't hear that word. But, I do have a few ideas. Ideas that can take place at night, which is good."

"Unless Justin could fall in love with a pile of ash, it's very good."

Justin stood at his slightly open door. He was in shock. He had wanted to get a glass of water and had overheard Spike and Daphne talking. He knew it was rude to eavesdrop, but he couldn't help it when he heard them mention his name. He couldn't believe what he had heard. Spike loved him? Was in love with him?!
