Angel Eyes
Chapter 8
In the morning Brian helped Justin don the coarse hospital gown. They didn’t have to wait long for an orderly to come by with a gurney to whisk Justin away. Brian held Justin’s hand as he climbed up on the gurney and got situated. Brian brushed a lock of hair out of Justin’s eyes.
Brian leaned in and whispered in Justin’s ear. “I’ll be here when you get back, love you.” Brian kissed Justin’s cheek softly.
Justin squeezed Brian’s hand tightly and tried to smile but it came out a bit lopsided. He was fighting tears but tried to be strong for Brian. Brian held Justin’s hand as they took Justin to the operating room. When he couldn’t go any further he gave Justin’s hand one final squeeze before he let go. Justin looked so small and vulnerable on that gurney.
Brian ran his hands in agitation through his hair causing it to spike up. He didn’t think he could bear to be cooped up in some waiting room. Brian needed to be somewhere other than this hospital. Even though it was a different hospital in a different state it still brought back painful memories of when he had to rush Justin to the hospital when Ethan attacked him. Brian snagged the first nurse that looked like she would give him the time of day.
“Hi, uh,” he read her name tag, “Cheryl, I’m Brian Kinney. My partner Justin Taylor just went in for surgery.” Brian took a deep breath. “I just can’t stand to be in here waiting.” Brian took out one of his business cards. “I was wondering if you could give me a call if something goes horribly wrong or if Justin needs me. I’d like to be here when he wakes up.”
Cheryl smiled at the slightly frazzled, good looking man. She took his card. “Of course, Mr. Kinney. Go get some air. Your partner is in good hands. Try not to worry too much.”
He nodded then made a hasty exit for the front door. He felt only slightly better when he was outside. Brian was tempted to smoke, but since Justin came into his life he hadn’t smoked a cigarette once, only some pot on occasion. Brian picked a direction and began to walk. Several blocks later he felt a little calmer. He hailed a taxi. While he was out he decided a little shopping was in order. The first stop he made was FAO Schwarz to get Gus a little something. He always prided himself on getting the perfect thing. Brian wasn’t in the store long when he spotted the prefect gift for both his boys. Brian smiled slightly; it reminded him of Justin. It was a small soft bear; the bear was wearing a little hoodie with NYC stitched on it. Gus would get the chocolate brown bear with the red hoodie while Justin got the honey brown bear in the sky blue hoodie.
Somehow Brian found himself at Tiffany’s. In the back of his mind he knew why he came here. Brian went in and perused the store. He made his way over to the men’s bracelets.
“Can I help you find something special?” The woman behind the counter was impeccably dressed.
“Yes, um, I’d like to look at a few of these bracelets.”
“Anything special you had in mind?”
“I’m looking for something unique in platinum.”
The woman pulled out a tray of platinum bracelets. Brian stared at them trying to figure out which one would suit Justin the best.
“Maybe I can help if you told me a bit about your special someone.”
A soft smile touched Brian’s lips when he thought of Justin. “His name is Justin.” He waited for a reaction and when he got none he continued, “He’s an artist, a published writer and he gives one hell of a massage. He’s very outgoing and has the most amazing smile, it just lights up the whole room. He was blind for two and a half years, got his sight back temporarily then lost it again. Right now he’s in surgery trying to get his sight back permanently.”
The woman smiled. “I think I might have just the thing.” She went into the back to get another tray. She plucked one bracelet from the bed of velvet. “What about this one?”
Brian inspected the bracelet. The band was thick but not overly so. It had three small sapphires inlaid into the band. It wasn’t too feminine looking which suited Brian just fine.
Brian smiled and nodded. “That’s the one.”
“Would you like it inscribed?”
“Yes.”
“May I suggest something?” She pegged the gorgeous looking man as someone who didn’t share his feelings easily. “How about we inscribe the bracelet in braille right next to the sapphires. It would look like added decoration. Even when he get’s his sight back he’ll know what it means, just him.”
Brian nodded slightly. “I like that idea.” Brian thought for a moment. “I want it to say I love you always.”
The woman smiled. “Justin is a lucky man.”
Brian shook his head. “No, I’m the lucky one. When it’s finished could you have it delivered discreetly to the Hilton hotel?”
“That’s no problem at all.”
“Thank you.”
After he left the high end jewelry store Brian got a taxi back to the hospital. He’d been gone long enough, Justin would need him. He wasn’t there even a few minutes when he was notified that Justin was out of surgery and heading back to his room. Dr. Evans found him in the waiting room.
“How is he?” Brian asked anxiously.
“The operation went well. Justin is fine; he’s asking for you. He might be a little out of it. I’ll take the bandages off some time tonight and then we’ll see what he sees.”
Brian nodded. “Thanks, that’s great news.”
Brian took long strides to Justin’s room. Justin was sitting up in bed when he got there.
“Brian?” Justin called anxiously.
“Hey, Angel, I’m here. How are you feeling?”
Justin shrugged. “Ok I guess, a bit groggy.”
Brian set the toy bag down on the side table. “Do your eyes hurt at all?”
“Not exactly, it feels like when you have something in them or when you read too much.” Justin held out his arms. “Come lay down with me, please.”
Brian kissed Justin’s forehead then kicked off his shoes. “Do you need anything first?”
Justin shook his head. “No just you. All I need is you.”
Brian got into bed with Justin being mindful of the wires. He pulled Justin into his arms. “You have me.”
Justin snuggled into Brian’s arms.
“The doctor said your surgery went well and that later tonight the bandages will come off.”
“Really? So soon?”
“Apparently, why don’t you take a little nap?” Brian ran his fingers through Justin’s hair.
“Maybe just a little one.”
Justin rested his head against Brian’s chest and fell asleep a few moments later. Brian lightly dosed with him. A few hours later Brian awoke to soft kisses on his neck trailing up to his cheek.
Brian smiled. “For a minute there I thought you were Logan.”
Justin’s mouth fell open. “Has Logan been getting fresh with you behind my back?”
Brian laughed kissing the tip of Justin’s nose. “No, not really. He did a few times when you first came to live with me. While you were in surgery I went out. I would have gone crazy waiting. I picked up something for Gus so that’s taken care of.”
“That’s great. You’re a good daddy.”
“I got you something too.”
Justin’s face lit up with a bright smile. “You got me a present?”
“Uh huh, I suppose you want it now.”
“Yes, please,” Justin said sweetly. Justin heard the rattle of a bag.
“Hold out your hand.”
Justin eagerly reached out his hand. Brian grabbed it and placed a kiss on Justin’s palm causing him to giggle. He gave Justin the bear. Justin smiled as he felt the soft toy, exploring it with his fingers.
“It’s a bear,” Justin laughed, “and he seems to be wearing a hoodie.”
“Yeah, it reminded me of you.”
Justin pulled Brian in for a kiss. “You’re such a sweetheart.”
“I got Gus one just like daddy Justin’s.”
Justin let out a little gasp. “Me, a dad?”
“Why not, you’re my partner and you love Gus. It seems logical to me.”
Justin just sat there marveling at this great man who was the love of his life. He hugged his bear to his chest. “I’d be honored to be Gus’ other dad.”
“Good, that’s settled then.”
“Brian, do you think you could score me a Mountain Dew from one of the machines? I’m thirsty.”
Brian swung his long legs down from the bed. “Sure, I’ll be back in a minute.”
Brian’s quest for the sacred Dew that Justin loved so much didn’t take long. Before he handed it over, he popped the top and stuck a straw in it. “Here ya go; I put a straw in it.”
Justin felt around for the straw. “Ohh, it’s the bendy kind too. You think of everything.” He began to suck happily on his cold drink. Brian smiled at him affectionately.
Twenty minutes later a nurse brought two lunch trays in. She set up the table so Brian and Justin could both eat.
“You didn’t need to bring lunch for me,” Brian protested a little.
“You need to keep up your strength to take care of this one, so both of you eat.”
Brian helped point out where all of Justin’s food was located. Then he began to pick at his own plate.
Brian grumbled, “I hate hospital food. It tastes like cardboard.”
“I must be really hungry then cuz everything tastes ok to me.”
Brian started to sneak some of his food onto Justin’s plate. Justin didn’t catch it the first time but he did the second.
“I felt that, Brian. You’re going to waste away if you keep feeding me your food.”
“I’ll eat something later.”
“Uh huh,” Justin said skeptically.
As promised the doctor came in right before dinnertime.
“Well, Justin, would you like to get those bandages off?”
“Yes, I want to see something already.”
The doctor chuckled. “I’m just going to close the blinds and dim the room. You’ll have to wear your dark glasses again for a few weeks. Your eyes will be sensitive to bright light. I want you to keep your eyes closed till I tell you that you can open them.”
“Ok.” Justin held his bear on his lap while the doctor began to remove all the bandages and gauze. Brian rubbed Justin’s back gently.
“That’s a mighty fine bear you have there, Justin.”
Justin smiled brightly. “Thanks, my partner got it for me.”
Dr. Evans removed the last bit of gauze. “Ok, Justin, I want you to take your time and open your eyes slowly. Don’t try to rush it.”
Justin tentatively cracked open his eyes. He slowly opened his eyes and looked around the room. His heart broke into a million pieces. The room was still black. “I don’t see anything,” Justin said in a shaky voice.
Brian shot the doctor a concerned look.
“Just give it a bit of time, and try to relax.”
Justin took a deep breath and blinked his eyes. “I… I think it’s lightening up a bit. Everything is kinda dark and fuzzy.”
“Good, that’s very good, Justin.”
Several more minutes passed before Justin broke out into a big smile. “I can see,” he said excitedly. Justin turned to look at Brian. Justin just stared at Brian drinking up the sight of his beautiful partner.
After a few minutes the doctor cleared his throat. “Well, my work here is done. I want you to take it easy, Justin. I’m sure you’ll get more rest if you were someplace other than here, so I’ll have your release papers ready in an hour.”
Without taking his eyes off Justin, Brian said, “Thank you, doctor.”
Justin was almost giddy with delight. “It’s such a relief. I can see again.”
“Yeah, and the best part is we can go back to the hotel, get a decent meal and sleep on 300 thread count sheets.”
“That sounds wonderful to me,” Justin sighed happily. He looked down and saw his bear for the first time. “Aw, he’s so cute,” Justin laughed.
Brian blushed, happy that Justin liked it.
Justin’s violet-blue eyes sparkled. “I can see you blushing.”
That caused Brian’s cheeks to turn a darker shade of red.
Once Justin was sprung from the hospital they took a taxi back to their hotel. Justin gave a happy sigh when he entered the room.
“I don’t want to see another hospital for a very long time.”
“I’ll second that. I’m going to call room service. I feel like celebrating with a thick juicy steak.”
Justin shuddered visibly, causing Brian to chuckle. He knew how Brian liked his steaks.
“Order me one too but I’d like mine dead and done.”
“Your loss.” Brian put in the order.
Justin set his bear down on the dresser. He took Gus’ bear out of the bag and set it next to his so it wouldn’t be lonely. Brian slipped his arms around Justin’s waist. He placed soft kisses on his neck.
“So, what would you like to do tomorrow?”
Justin turned in surprise. “I thought we were going back to the Pitts.”
“We will, eventually, but since we’re here in New York we might as well do a few things. The doctor does want you to rest and take it easy though.”
Justin thought a moment. “I can do anything I want?”
Brian hesitated. “Within reason, I suppose so.”
“I really want to see the Met Museum.”
Brian smirked, his tongue traveling to the corner of his cheek. “I had a feeling a museum would be on the list. I think that can definitely be arranged. On the condition you wear your dark glasses and we’re only going to stay an hour so you don’t get tired.”
Justin slightly pouted but he figured the deal was as good as he was going to get. Their food arrived. While they ate they chatted about what they would do while they were in New York. Brian had a few plans of his own up his sleeve.
After their dinner Justin gave Brian a sultry smile. He got up swaying his hips slightly and sat down on Brian’s lap straddling him.
“Make love to me, Brian.”
Brian looked deep into Justin’s violet-blue pools. “Are you sure you’re up for it?”
Justin rubbed his hardening cock against Brian’s groin. “Oh, I’m up for it.”
Brian arched a brow but said nothing. He slid Justin off his lap and got up heading for the bathroom. Brian started the water for the tub. He quickly shucked off his clothes and lit a bunch of candles, placing them strategically around the large bathroom. When Brian was ready for Justin he lounged in the doorway wearing nothing but a cocky grin. Justin quickly followed Brian into the bathroom.
“Whoever said Brian Kinney didn’t do romance is a fool.”
Brian smiled. “Yeah, well, I don’t like to brag.”
Brian plucked Justin’s glasses off and set them on the counter. The room was only lit by candlelight. Brian batted Justin’s hand away when he tried to undress. He wanted to undress his boy. His movements were slow and seductive. It was driving Justin out of his mind. Brian drew his t shirt up slowly making sure that the hem dragged against his hardening nipples. Justin kicked off his shoes. Brian drew him in for a long lingering kiss. He popped Justin’s button one handed and yanked down the zipper of his jeans as the kiss ended. Justin was breathless and panting. Brian tugged Justin’s jeans down over his full supple bottom. They ended up in a pool at his ankles. Brian helped Justin step out of them.
Brian took Justin’s hand and they entered the tub together. Justin relaxed in the warmth of the scented water. Brian slid him onto his lap. Justin straddled Brian’s hips and rested his arms around Brian’s shoulders. Their kisses were slow and filled with passion that burned like the sun.
Justin murmured in Brian’s ear. “I want you inside me.”
Brian’s fingers found Justin’s hole and opened him up. The water would act as lube so they need not worry about that. Justin shuddered as Brian played with his hole. When Justin started to rock on his fingers, Brian withdrew them much to Justin’s disappointment. Justin raised his hips while Brian positioned his thick dick at his entrance. Justin moaned in pleasure as the head of Brian’s dick breached his hole. He held onto Brian’s shoulders for support while Brian gripped his hips. Justin sunk down slowly feeling each delicious inch that filled him. His mouth dropped open as he rotated his hips.
“God, Brian, you feel so good.”
As Justin came to rest on Brian’s lap, he kissed him hungrily. It wasn’t long before he started to move. Justin slowly swiveled his hips, letting Brian’s dick rub him in all the right places. Justin’s dick was poking up between their chests. The water batted at the tip causing wonderful sensations. Justin loved a deep penetration. He loved to feel Brian deep within him for day’s afterwards. He raised and lowered his hips. Brian let him have full control; he only guided his hips as they pivoted. Justin squeezed Brian’s shoulders hard when Brian’s dick dragged across his prostate. He stilled his hips and bit his lip hard to keep from cumming. He wanted this to last as long as possible.
Justin kept up the long strokes but quickened his pace. He knew he wouldn’t be able to last much longer, and by Brian’s glazed eyes neither would he. Brian held onto Justin’s hips for dear life as Justin began to bounce on his dick. Justin slammed down one final time on Brian’s lap and came with a passion filled scream. He bathed Brian’s chest in creamy cum. It was quickly washed away by the swirling water. Justin’s hole gripped Brian tightly. He hugged Justin to him as he pumped his hot cum deep inside him.
Justin nestled his head against Brian’s chest. They stayed just like that till they felt inclined to move.
Brian rubbed Justin’s slick back. “Come on, we need to get out or we’ll shrivel. That is one thing I don’t do … wrinkly.”
Justin let out a sigh that was fit for any drama princess, causing Brian to chuckle softly. Justin slowly rose up and let Brian slip out of him. He grimaced at the loss. Brian got out and pulled Justin with him. He surveyed the bathroom. They hadn’t flooded it but there were a few big puddles of water. Brian grabbed up a towel and wrapped Justin up in it before slinging one around his waist. They dried off as they headed for the bedroom. They slid between the sheets and met in the middle of the king size bed. Brian and Justin curled up against each other. Justin was out like a light as soon as his head touched Brian’s chest, and Brian wasn’t far behind him.
Brian awoke the next morning with Justin still curled up on his chest. He caressed Justin’s arm. A soft smile crossed Justin’s lips. His eyelashes fluttered open. When he saw Brian his smile got wider.
“It’s nice to wake up and see you, sleep rumpled hair and all.”
Brian’s hands flew to his hair trying to rearrange it.
Justin laughed. “Oh stop, you look fine.”
Brian wiped at the puddle of drool on his chest and arched his brow at Justin. Justin blushed and tried to hide his face behind a sheet.
“I was tired.”
“Is that any reason to leave a lagoon on my chest?” He grabbed Justin’s hand. “Come on, let’s grab a shower.”
They soaped each other up thoroughly, especially getting all the hard to reach bits. They emerged from the shower both satisfied with their high protein breakfast. Justin slipped on one of the hotel’s soft fuzzy robes. Brian placed a call for breakfast. Justin plopped down on Brian’s lap. What Justin loved the most about his relationship with Brian was their closeness. It seemed they always had to be touching each other all the time. Justin never felt closer to anyone than Brian.
“Comfortable?” Brian wrapped his arms around Justin.
“Yes, very. Brian, do you really think that PIFA will accept me back?”
“Yeah, I do. Look, they said they would and you can see now, so I don’t see where there would be any problem.”
Brian had to scoot Justin off his lap to open the door for room service. He had ordered a big breakfast for Justin aka the bottomless pit. Breakfast was set up in the living room area. Brian gratefully poured himself a cup of coffee.
“I hope your going to have some actual food with your coffee.”
Brian absently waved his hand towards the small dish of fruit. Justin rolled his eyes then smiled. He had ways of making Brian eat.
He dug into his mountain of pancakes. He speared one fluffy piece, holding it out to Brian. Justin smiled and batted his pretty violet-blue eyes. Brian smirked but opened his mouth accepting the offering.
“You know that smile isn’t going to work all the time.”
Justin laughed. “Well, it has so far.”
Brian grumbled into the depths of his coffee cup. Justin succeeded in getting Brian to eat a few more pieces of his pancakes. He fed Brian his strawberry that had been perched on top of the stack. He leaned in and licked away the escaping juices.
Brian groaned. “If you keep that up, we might never leave this room.”
Justin bounded to the bedroom to change just in case Brian made good on his threat. He loved to be fucked by Brian any time of the day or night, but since they were in New York he really did want to see the Met museum.
They both dressed in casual comfortable clothes. Brian made sure Justin’s dark glasses were firmly in place before they left. They took a cab to the museum. Brian held Justin’s hand, not out of necessity but because he loved the feel of the smaller hand in his.
“So what do you want to see the most?” Brian asked.
Justin looked over his options carefully. He knew they wouldn’t get to see a lot. “I’d like to see the European art and some of the modern art.”
Brian looked more at Justin than he did at the paintings. He loved to watch Justin’s expressions. Brian was so glad that the operation worked and that he could take Justin to a museum and see the absolute joy on his face. That was better than any old painting in his opinion.
“You’re supposed to be looking at the art not me.”
‘Busted.’ “I can’t help it if I find you more fascinating.”
Justin’s cheeks bloomed pink. After they spent an hour looking at the paintings Justin wanted to look at, he insisted Brian find something he’d like to see too. They went to the photography section. Justin learned that Brian had loved photography since he was his age. He was curious as to why Brian had never taken it up as a hobby.
Justin didn’t protest too much when Brian ordered him back to the hotel to rest. He knew that Brian was just looking out for him.
“Brian, I’m fine really, I’m not even tired.”
“Great but you’re still going to lie down for a while like a good little boy.” Justin grumbled at that. Brian pulled him in for a kiss. “If you lay down now I might just have a surprise for you later on.”
“Ok,” Justin relented. He crawled up on the bed. As soon as he settled down on the soft mattress he felt his eyes grow heavy. Fuck, he hated when Brian was right. He fell asleep shortly thereafter.
After Brian made the arrangements for the evening he went to check on Justin. He smiled from the doorway. He loved when he was right. Justin was just like Gus, he’d deny he was tired but as soon as you put him down for a nap he was out like a light. He went over and tugged Justin’s shoes off slowly so as not to wake him up. Brian laid down next to Justin; he could use a little nap himself. His last thought was ‘What was the world coming to when Brian Kinney needed a nap?’
Brian woke up to find Justin had been watching him sleep. Justin smiled sweetly at him. “Looks like you needed a nap too.”
Brian stuck his tongue out but Justin bent down and captured it in a searing kiss. Brian then rubbed the sleep from his eyes.
“So where are you taking me?” Justin asked eagerly.
“I’m taking you out to a nice restaurant.”
“That’s all?” Justin asked a bit disappointed.
“What do you mean is that all?”
Justin traced the pattern on the bedspread with his fingertips. “Well I just thought maybe we could do something fun.”
Brian cleared his throat trying to hide his smile. “Well, I could have something planned after dinner but you’ll just have to wait and see.” He smacked Justin on his jean clad ass. “Now go put on something nice.”
“Ow!” Justin rubbed his ass. It didn’t really hurt that much but sometimes he liked to play the protesting princess. Justin pulled out his navy blue cashmere sweater. Brian had bought it for him not long ago. He said the color would make his eyes look amazing. Justin smiled at the memory as he pulled the sweater on over his head. As soon as his head popped out of the hole Brian kissed him.
“I was right; you look amazing in that sweater.”
Justin blushed. “Thanks.” He found his charcoal grey slacks and changed into them. When he turned around his breath caught. Brian looked gorgeous, well, he always looked gorgeous. Brian looked sexy as hell and good enough to eat. He wore a cream colored cable knit sweater with chocolate brown slacks. Justin wanted to toss him down on the bed and ride his dick. Brian looked up from pulling on his Prada boots. He caught Justin’s reaction.
“Later,” he stated firmly.
He got up and eyed Justin critically. “Hmm, something is missing. He pawed through his suitcase for a moment before pulling out a black Gucci belt. Brian smile and crooked a finger at Justin. Brian grabbed Justin by the waist and slipped the belt through the loops f his slacks. As he fastened the buckle he could feel Justin start to respond to his touch.
Justin groaned as he looked down. “Great, now I have a hard on. Thanks a lot.”
“You’re welcome, and hey, on the plus side you look really hot, I’d fuck you.” Brian saw Justin’s hopeful expression. “Just not now.”
“Fucker,” Justin growled.
They took a cab to the restaurant. Brian had made reservations at Tavern on the Green. They were shown to a private table in the back. Brian pulled out Justin’s chair for him. Justin smiled at Brian’s thoughtfulness.
“It’s fairly dark back here. If you want to take your glasses off you can. I know how much you hate to wear them.”
Justin eagerly slipped them off. “I know I have to protect my eyes but sometimes I get so sick of them.”
“It’s only for a few more weeks and then you’ll never have to wear them again.”
Justin put on his best little boy smile. “So how about a hint as to what we’re doing after dinner.”
Brian pretended to think about it. “Um, no.”
The waiter came by and took their drink order.
Brian ordered for the both of them when the waiter came back around. Brian had the broiled chicken and Justin of course wanted a burger with everything on it. Brian interlaced his fingers with Justin’s and let their hands rest on top of the table for anyone who cared to look.
“I love you, Justin, so much.”
Justin’s eyes sparkled in the low light. “And you know how much I love you.”
Justin kept up a stream of lively chatter as they ate their dinner. Justin ordered dessert. To Brian’s horror it was triple chocolate cake which was one of his secret favorites. The little devil ended up feeding him half of it.
“When we get back I’ll have to hit the gym extra long,” Brian complained.
Justin smiled wickedly. “How about you just fuck me twice as long? It burns more calories and it’s so much more fun than a treadmill. I don’t know why you worry so much about your weight, you look amazing.”
“Flattery will get you everywhere. Are you ready for your surprise?”
“Yes.” Justin was practically bouncing in his seat. Brian left a hefty tip and grabbed Justin’s hand.
Since it wasn’t far they walked. Brian gestured to a white horse and carriage. “Your chariot awaits.”
Justin gave a happy little gasp. “Oh, Brian!” Justin called up to the driver. “Can I pet her?”
“Of course.” He handed Justin a small carrot to feed the horse. “Her name is princess.”
Justin smiled at Brian over the name of the horse. Justin held out the carrot for the horse to take. He petted the soft velvety nose. Princess leaned into his touch.
“She likes you,” the driver commented.
”Pretty girl,” Justin cooed.
Brian held Justin’s hand as he helped him into the carriage, then hoisted himself up. He slung his arm around Justin’s shoulders. They rode around Central Park. Justin laid his head on Brian’s shoulder.
“You are such a romantic, Brian.”
“Well, you can’t very well go to New York and not go on a carriage ride.”
“Face it, Kinney, you’re just a soft romantic marshmallow.”
“I’m never soft, and if you tell anyone I’ll have to punish you.”
“Promises, promises.”
The horse drawn carriage ride at twilight was so romantic. Justin was glad that he was able to see everything, especially Brian. Justin never got tired of looking at him and neither did Brian. They cuddled and kissed as the driver took the lovers on an extra long ride around the park.
