Inside Every Older Person is a Younger Person Wondering, ‘What the Heck Happened?’

“What’s wrong?” Justin asked Brian as he sat back down next to his spouse.  Brian was staring up at the vacated stage not moving as the auditorium emptied.

“Just thinking,” Brian said as he reached over for Justin’s hand.  Justin clasped Brian’s hand readily.

“About what?”

“Time.”

“As in?”

“As in where did it all go?  One minute I’m dancing with you at Babylon; the next we’re watching Gus graduate from college.  What the hell happened, Sunshine?”

“Time.”
