Forgotten
Overhearing wild speculations about Noir's identity amuses Laila as she does the
shopping. Stopping at a local cafe she adds a few theories of her own knowing
they'll have spread by nightfall.
By now a storm is threatening and shoppers scurry home. Like the sky, Laila's
mood darkens and she trudges on thinking about a different thief entirely.
There's nothing elegant about this one, with his aristocratic airs. He takes
things more precious than jewelry and sometimes Laila hates him.
Especially on rainy days when he steals Ray away for an idle afternoon while
Laila goes about her chores, forgotten.

Rumors
Florian sips his tea and smiles, casually eavesdropping on the
conversations around him. While mother was alive he never spent time among
commoners like this. But Laila recommended this cafe and Florian is grateful for
her suggestion.
The topic is Noir, as it usually is after one of Noir's "missions". Florian
enjoys the wild speculations about Noir's identity, until he hears his own name
mentioned. It startles him for a moment, but then he smiles; Laila, of course.
He drains his teacup and stands, murmuring as he passes one of the gossips, "Why
is it assumed Noir is a man?"

Tips
Solomon drinks strong black coffee, fading into the shadows of the corner
booth and watching other customers. He's a regular here and knows the waitresses
by name.
"Noir" is today's favorite topic but there are others of note as well. Solomon
wonders if his dear Black Cat knows his companions spend their idle time
spreading gossip. Not likely; Noir isn't the kind of man to take chances,
therefore neither is Count Courland.
Solomon leaves two tips today – a bit of change and the name of an officious
acquaintance. He walks away tallying the debt of favors Ray owes him now.
